“Excellent stay of one week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

My friend (35) and I (35) arrived on the 30th August for a week and were given a warm welcome by the hotel reception. We were 2 hours early for check in and the room wasn't ready but our cases were stored and we were given a map so we could have a little explore. The Hotel is perfectly located and the walk to the catherdral took less than 10 minutes. It is also only a few minutes from the shopping area and Triana across the river.
Our room at the hotel was of nice decor and the bathroom modern. It is very clean with tea and coffee in room and a mini bar. We had maid service daily.
The roof top terrace with pool is a total sun trap. Its glorious up there and looks out over the city with an amazing view of the Catherdral. The pool is small but definately big enough for a swim.Towels are provided for a deposit so no need to pack a beach towel if you plan to catch some rays. We didn't visit the spa during our stay.
Breakfast was of a good variety with a small hot section and lots of fruit, breads, pastries yoghurts and cereals.
The Hotel Becquer is great value for money. I can't fault the hotel and having travelled far and wide previously my expectations have generally lowered - this hotel raised them for us and we will look forward to our next stay here.

My sister and I are touring Andalusia and staying at mid priced hotels. This was our splurge. The room (225) was huge and had a lovely street view. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The parking garage attendant was most helpful (be sure to make a reservation for your car if you're driving) and I'm thankful I have experience in the underground parking lots of Chicago's hotels because it was definitely tight parking! In contrast to other reviewers we found the staff helpful to our tourist needs and very fluent in English. While we didn't have time to take advantage of the spa, the prices were highly reasonable compared to the US. The wifi seemed to be hard to connect to at first but the connection was fast--we watched YouTube videos with no problem or delays. Definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a traditional 4 star hotel. With cosy rooms, comfortable beds and pillow menu. Great, elegant and helpful hotel staff. The hotel is well located, walking distance to main tourist attractions. Don't forget to visit Triana! Just cross the bridge and you are in THE district.
The swimming pool is verym very small (bigger bathtub), but refreshing. Wifi did not work, but there are computers in the lobby, so no problem. Remember to book your parking space in advance (extra paid).

Becquer offered what I expect from a "good" hotel. The monogramed carpeting doesn't deflect from the faded decor and trim. Wifi is a little spotty. It offers many amenities - computers in the lobby, great reading room/lounge. Breakfast was the typical buffet. Thankful for the pool! There's a taxi stand right in front and the hotel is located just on the edge of the old town's pedestrian zone - great location! We were on the 1st floor facing the street - heard absolutely nothing through the nights (Sun & Mon). Still don't understand why we rarely find queen-sized beds in hotels in Spain. Yet, again - two twins side-by-side - not even joined with queen sheets. Room-size is normal (though we tend to fill ours with an extra cot and a crib!) TV and channel selection is great. Service was excellent and very helpful. All in all - great value for money.

Room Tip: Be forewarned - the parking garage is limited to a height of 1.8m. My SUV didn't fit (not a crit...

Very good hotel, centrally located within walking distance to all important sites of Seville. Spacious rooms but wifi was not very reliable. Very small swimming pool very good for a small dip to refresh yourself from the afternoon heat of the city. Good breakfast with ample choice of fresh fruit, cold cuts and sweets. A good point to note is that they offer soja milk. Would recommend this hotel, however they do not offer a concierge service.

Although the decor is slightly outdated, the hotel is excellent. The pool is such a nice treat, especially in Seville heat. There are 3 computers readily available in the lobby with free Internet and even a printer. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful. Superb AC. Highly recommended. Good location too. We walked everywhere.
