“Lovely stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

After researching hundreds of hotels in Seville we went with San Gil. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great location close to a more authentic Seville. Cute little roof top pool for those needing a dip after a hot day seeing the sights. Those wanting to stay super central might not fancy the walk to and from San Gil but for us it was only about 15-20 mins and we enjoyed wandering through la Macarena. Would definitely stay at San Gil again.

Me and my wife plus our two kids spent 3 days at this hotel. We received a nice 2-room unit at the top floor, with a direct access to the pool (small, cold but excellent for the hot days of the
summer!). Service was very pleasant, breakfast was nice, and in one of the nights there
was a good flamenco dinner (the flamenco was free). Location a bit remote from center,
but was convenient for our purpose. Recommended!

Happened upon the San Gil purely by chance. Located within quirky little side streets close to the Alemeda de Hercules and within walking distance (or c€9 cab ride) from all the major attractions.

The hotel and rooms were clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I cannot comment on the food as we only had breakfast there and this was purely acceptable with a Spanish version of a full English on offer every morning.

The pool and patio were a welcome relief from the high temperatures.

All in all a great stay however those with young children or elderly may prefer somewhere closer to the main attractions.

This lovely hotel is conveniently located in the Macarena section of the city, and is the corner from the Basilicia de the Macarena. The hotel hosts Flamenco shows for its guests in the patio several evenings during the week and the hotel food can't be beat. The staff was VERY cordial and helpful in planning our tours. We found no problems with their English.

Excellent hotel well located for sightseeing. If travelling by car, can be extremely difficult to find and to park, but staff very helpful. Hardly any English spoken, which for us added to the fun. Lovely clean rooms, nice pool and very pleasant patio area to sit out on (made up for the lack of balcony). Good value breakfast for 9Euros - sets you up for the day. Would happily return to the same hotel again

Hotel San Gil is walking distance to the town center, with lots of interesting streets to explore along the way. You can also easily rent a bike to see the sights, using the city's Sevici bike service. Make sure you find the bike paths to ride on - the cobblestones are very bumpy! It's on a quiet street, and there is little noise even if your room is street-facing. The room was small and beginning to show some wear, but well-decorated and clean. Breakfast was excellent, with an outdoor courtyard to enjoy it in. A small pool is available on the roof top, which is a must in the hot Seville summers. It was good value for the price.
