“Fantastic hostel with great location and excellent atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

One of the best small hostels I have stayed at, in terms of the atmosphere, the friendly environment and the social service provided by the owners (two British brothers, two friends). Stayed 2 nights in a 4 bed dorm. Breakfast included downstairs, wi-fi was fine and there is also a social space on the rooftop (hence the name). For a small price a communal dinner is provided on the rooftop making for a good social experience to meet other travellers. Stayed during Semana Santa and had a close up view of cathedral and processions down the side street. The hostel is located only 3 minutes walking from the Cathedral/Alcazar so has a fantastic location. Rooms were fairly warm but still slept fine. The bathroom, en-sute and communal clean and modern. Beds were solid, wooden and good. I would recommend it this as a great hostel for solo or pair travellers.

The hostel is managed by english guys, very international and with a joyful atmosphere. Rooms are clean and spacious, kitchen and bathrooms are brand new and parties in the rooftop are just amazing. Highly recommended also for the location.

La Banda is by far the best I have ever been to! I came to Sevilla during Semana Santa and absolutely loved staying here, close to everything. I even extended my stay to four nights, I was not ready to leave :)

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere with the other guests. They offer 'family dinners' on the gorgeous rooftop for only 6€. I went every night and was treated to home made Greek, Indian, American, and Spanish food. As a solo traveller, the social aspect of the dinner was much appreciated.

The hostel itself is new, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are spotless and the showers are better than the ones I have in my apartment! The common room has a great atmosphere and people actually spend time there. The rooftop is accessible all day long and has a beautiful view of the cathedral.

I took both walking tours offered and was not disappointed! Medi was my energetic and passionate guide both times and I learned so much about Sevilla from him. I especially liked hearing all the historic stories and why things are the way they are! He was an excellent guide and I wish him all the best!

Tom, Ollie, Sam, Richie -- thank you so much!

Room Tip: I was in room 2 and I loved it -- very cosy, great natural light and with unbeatable views of the st...

The hostel is great and clean with a great rooftop terrace with a bar and a community meal every night. The food was really good and the drinks were cheap. It is close to almost everything and although parking is a bit tricky, that isn't their fault. Would definitely stay again

Room Tip: Some of the larger rooms only have one bathroom which can be problematic

We only stayed one night before our early morning flight but everyone was very nice, it was very clean and the roof top looked great. Good atmosphere and I would recommend. Everyone there was really helpful too and wanted to get us to do as much as we could before the morning.

I stayed here for three nights during my recent trip to Sevilla. La Banda is definitely one of the best hostels (or any form of accommodation for that matter) that I've stayed in throughout my travels. The facilities are comfortable and clean. The location is superb - it's less than a 5-minute walk to the Cathedral and Barrio Santa Cruz. The rooftop area has amazing views of the Cathedral, especially at night. Security is good. The vibe of the hostel is fantastic - it's very social and easy to make friends with other guests but it's not an out of control party hostel so you can actually relax and sleep. The nightly (optional) family-style dinners at the rooftop are pretty cool as well - not only do you get to eat some yummy homemade food for only 6 euros, but you also end up meeting a lot of new people to chat and hang out with.

The hostel's best assets however, are the 4 guys who run the place - Tom, Ollie, Sam, and Richie. They're some of the friendliest and most hospitable guys I've ever met. I was pretty impressed with the fact that they made an effort to get to know every single guest while I was there, which is something I've never experienced in any other hostel before. They're always happy to help with questions about what to do in Sevilla.

I'm pretty sure I will return to Sevilla in my future travels and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again at La Banda!

Upon arriving to the Hostel, I was greeted by the sound of hip hop and and cool dude named Tom. The atmosphere of the Hostel is very hip and cool, and very layer back. I suppose this is a reflection of the four dudes that started it about a year ago. Although the hostel is young, it's well established. Moreover this Hostel truly caters to it's young customers. Although I only stayed for one night, it was a great experience with no problems.
