I have visited Granada on several occasions, and it is an amazing place, unfortunately this time I was let down by the hotel.
We arrived at 15h00 on Saturday afternoon and were greeted by a very unfriendly member of staff, I speak spanish so I understood all the bad words she was using while trying to work her way through the documentation which was unusually long. During this time she was chatting with her friends and not paying attention to the questions I was trying to ask. After all the formalities were complete she informed us that our room was not ready (although checkin was from 14h00). She did not apologise once and just told us to sit down. We decided to wait in the bar and I oredered some drinks. Again very unfriendly staff. The drinks did not come and after a while the receptionist called us over to collect the keys. I kindly went to the bar to let him know the drinks were no longer needed, he had obviously forgotten as he was hanging around, yet he was very angry when I told him to cancel them.
We got to the room, which was ok, although not the cleanest room I've been in. although it advertised a mini bar, there was only a bottle of water and an orange juice in the fridge. There wasn't any ironing equipment either which is unusual, even on request.
The novelty of the 'automatic toilet' quickly wears as the toilet seat is very small.
Drove into Granada early evening for a tour and dinner (which was great) and returned to find that the hotel had no parking space, and we were told to leave the car outside somewhere on the street. As I didnt want to do this I parked where I could inside and in the process damaged the car!
All in all its not that the hotel was particularly bad, its just that we felt so unwelcome there and we chose to be slightly outside of Granada so we could benefit from parking, but if there aren't any spaces available, whats the point!!!!!! So bad service + bad location = Avoid this hotel. Especially considering there are far more charming hotels in the centre.
