We liked the hotel. We definitely did. Despite all the minuses it was a very pleasant place to stay.

First of all it is very stylish: the inner patio with a pool imitation, valinna aroma candles everywhere, white stairs with mirrors give good impression of calm and serenity from the very first glance and inhale.

The room was nice, very cozy indeed and the bed was really fantastic - along with solid curtains on the window it was an irrisistible argument to have sweet dreams.
We liked the idea with doors and windows of the bathroom and shower made of half-transparent glass - it gives a certain spice without crossing the limits.

The location of the hotel turned out to be worthy to be praised - we came to Granada to enjoy the Semana Santa and one of the processions itinerary lay right under our window!

Now the negative points.

The electronic key-card system glitched every second time so either the door of the room didn't open or the security safe refused to close or we could not unlock the door of the spa centre. A rather irritating thing when it happens too often. And it did.

The pool in the fitness-centre. Apart from being small which is understandable due to the size of the hotel itself it was terrific because of the amount of clorine in the pool and the jacuzzi part. We ended up with red eyes and tears running for the next two days.

The restaurant. The breakfast was rather modest and the choice of food quite limited. As for the a la carte menu beware that they serve let us say sophisticated dishes so even though some combinations of products are rather interesting other may be just intolerable. And they have no menus in English so if your Spanish gastronomy vocabulary is not that wide you will not understand all the exquisite ingredients in your plate.

And the last but not the least - the parking. They have one. They volunteerly take your car and only upon the check-out it turns out that it was for an extra charge and nobody cares to prevent you beforehand. I do not remember the exact sum but it was obviously too much for a rented car. Anyway the most unpleasant thing was that we were not informed about it in due time.

Nevertheless the overall impression of the hotel was very good and we keep in our memories only the positive moments of our stay.

We spent 14 days in Andalucia in September 2008, Villa Oniria in Granada was our 1st stop for 2 nights. We caught a bus from the airport to the city and we were dropped off at the bottom of the street with an easy walk to the hotel. The hotel is in an ideal location to walk to all the main sights of Granada city itself. The bed was the most comfortable of all the 5 hotels we stayed in during our visit - the staff were available if you required service - but were also discreet if you wanted privacy. We had arranged car hire for the remainder of our holiday which we collected at the end of our stay in Granada - you don't need a car to see the city itself. My next visit to Granada I will definitely return to the Villa Oniria - I'm quite surprised at the recent reviews as it was not my experience at the hotel.

This hotel would rank 1st for the worst customer service ever!

They do not respond to email inquiries. Their phones take forever to be answered. And their sales reps are terrible! We stayed there despite all these due to the good feedback we got about villa oniria. We should have followed our guts and chose another hotel.

Would not recommend this hotel.

We booked Hotel Villa Oniria 2 months ahead of our trip to avail of the early booking rates & we thought we got a good deal at Euro 150 per night. We were so disappointed to discover that the rates for our stay was offered at Euro 120 for those who booked much later! In short, the hotel seems to give more importance to those who book late rather than those who plan early like us. We asked to avail of the Euro 120 rates but we were declined by Barbara, the service representative who was on duty.

This is one of those hotels you look back and it somehow dissappears in a fog because you just can not believe having ever been in such a great hotel. Really I have travelled to some spots on this planet, but this is an oase of piece, harmony and mental refreshing located in the heart of granada. The hotel smelled lovely (they have somekind of rose smell there all day from candles located all over the villa), the spa was great to refresh after a long day walking through the city and the best....the rooms were just perfect. If I ever was unsure how a small flat should be designed than I would simply copy this. The shower was a all stone/marmor and the bed was probably one of the best ones I have ever slept in. I don't no what more I could say other than that I should learn spanish to thank the staff of this hotel in their mother tongue for this fantastic creation....it is worth every dollar/euro.....
