We stayed here during our honeymoon through Spain in June 2008. Although the hotel itself boasts a beautiful calming clean modern decor, we found the service to be subpar for a hotel of this class. Friendly welcoming interaction with the front desk staff was lacking, and what's worse, we requested the young lady at the front desk to make a dinner reservation at this nice restaurant near the Mirador overlooking the Alhambra, she said she would, but when we got there, there was no reservation and they told us they had not received any calls that day from Villa Oniria! Like I said, it's a beautiful hotel, the room was clean, comfortable with a modern decor, and a balcony overlooking a quiet plaza with a fountain, however as mentioned above, the desk staff was aloof, which left an unwelcoming sour taste. The location is good and we walked to Plaza Nueva, the Albayzin, and it was a short taxi ride to the Alhambra (or you can take the shuttle buses from Plaza Nueva). I would still recommend this hotel to someone looking for a hotel with modern decor and spa-like ambiance in Granada, and perhaps by now, the staff have had a lesson in customer service! However coming off a stay at the incredible Hospes Palacio del Bailio in Cordoba which set the standard for this class of hotel in our opinion (style, location, decor, and amazingly friendly staff) , Villa Oniria just didn't earn a 5-dot Tripadvisor Excellent in our opinion.
