Firstly, the hotel is very easy to get to, only about 100 yards from where the bus from the airport drops you of at the Puerta Real.
The staff on reception are unfailingly excellent, being helpful, friendly and with a good grasp of English. On the way to your room you already get a good feel about the hotel as on the way to your room you smell the lovely scent of candles.
The quality of the furniture and fittings in the room are very good. Flat screen television that you can turn on an adjustable arm, safe and fridge.
The showers are fantastic, powerful and easily understood and with subtle changes of temperature possible. The attention to detail manifests itself in the non-slip floor in the shower which is well appreciated. Towels are good quality and more than enough. I know some people have criticised the fact that they do not give you a new soap tablet every day, but I applaud this lack of waste. If you need some more some it is no problem asking the chambermaids for some, as they visit you every day with a thoughtful greeting card and ask if you need anything. These ladies that clean and look after your room are marvellous and do an excellent job - our beds were even made twice one day and my wife's pyjamas folded beautifully.
Make sure that you are very friendly with the person with whom you are sharing the room as the bathroom area is semi-transparent. I would therefore describe the hotel and its whole ambiance as one for Romantics.
When the weather turned foul one day a roaring fire in the lounge made a very welcoming site.
We did not try the meals or the spa so I do not wish to comment on these areas.
The location is superb, being so close to Puerta Real, Reyes Catolicos, the Cathedral and the many streets and alley that make this beautiful town such a pleasure to visit. You can walk to all the best sites in Granada, including the Alhambra, if you wish.
Should you choose the Villa Oniria I do not think you will be disappointed. We have stayed in far more expensive hotels in London, Rome etc and found the value for money far higher in this smallish, chic hotel.
