I have to admit that I had high expectations when travelling to this hotel but my stay at the Villa Oniria was over the top.

THe location was great, the rooms are fantastic although maybe a little bit small. THe staff was very helpfull and friendly. We did not try the restaurant but it seemed to be quite good, maybe next time.

I will recommend this hotel to all my friends when visiting Granada, the city is fantastic itself and if you can combine your trip with this hotel your holiday will be fantastic!

Pretentious hotel - Not at all what the photos show

This hotel is over-rated and the photos do not really show the interior of the rooms. The rooms are very small and modern, with an IKEA feel to them, and the location is a bit far away too, it is hard to find decent restaurants nearby, except the hotel has a very expensive and pretentious restautant that is empty all the time. We won't be returning here.

Firstly, the hotel is very easy to get to, only about 100 yards from where the bus from the airport drops you of at the Puerta Real.
The staff on reception are unfailingly excellent, being helpful, friendly and with a good grasp of English. On the way to your room you already get a good feel about the hotel as on the way to your room you smell the lovely scent of candles.
The quality of the furniture and fittings in the room are very good. Flat screen television that you can turn on an adjustable arm, safe and fridge.
The showers are fantastic, powerful and easily understood and with subtle changes of temperature possible. The attention to detail manifests itself in the non-slip floor in the shower which is well appreciated. Towels are good quality and more than enough. I know some people have criticised the fact that they do not give you a new soap tablet every day, but I applaud this lack of waste. If you need some more some it is no problem asking the chambermaids for some, as they visit you every day with a thoughtful greeting card and ask if you need anything. These ladies that clean and look after your room are marvellous and do an excellent job - our beds were even made twice one day and my wife's pyjamas folded beautifully.
Make sure that you are very friendly with the person with whom you are sharing the room as the bathroom area is semi-transparent. I would therefore describe the hotel and its whole ambiance as one for Romantics.
When the weather turned foul one day a roaring fire in the lounge made a very welcoming site.
We did not try the meals or the spa so I do not wish to comment on these areas.
The location is superb, being so close to Puerta Real, Reyes Catolicos, the Cathedral and the many streets and alley that make this beautiful town such a pleasure to visit. You can walk to all the best sites in Granada, including the Alhambra, if you wish.
Should you choose the Villa Oniria I do not think you will be disappointed. We have stayed in far more expensive hotels in London, Rome etc and found the value for money far higher in this smallish, chic hotel.

  • Liked — Quality people offering a quality product.
  • Disliked — I believe you have to pay extra to use the gym and spa facilities.

It's a very pretty hotel. BUT, the staff was very unhelpful. And they had no services I expect from a hotel of this calaber.

- No help with my luaggage when I asked
- Internet was broken and when I worked, I was charged for it
- My door did not lock
- hooks in the bathroom where falling off
- No maps or help for seeing the sites in Granada (and there was nothing in the room)

Enjoyed an excellent stay at the Villa Oniria. Hotel appears very welcoming as soon as you enter, with soft lighting, scented candles and soothing (if a little annoying after a while) music.

Service was excellent and the modern room, although a little on the small side, was nicely decorated, had everything you need and a terrific shower (there was also a separate bath, although I understand that not all rooms have this).

Breakfast was decent value and the hotel had a nice-looking spa, which we were unable to enjoy due to lack of time.

The hotel is in a good central location and an easy walk away from all attractions. Driving in the centre of Granada is a nightmare but the hotel is not too difficult to find if you take some good directions with you. Valet parking is available.

Cost was higher than at some (allegedly) similar quality hotels but this place is well worth paying a little extra for. Will definitely stay here again. Don't bother looking at anything else, this hotel will have everything you need from a hotel in Granada.
