Hotel Macia Real de la Alhambra is the best place for drivers because it is right off the highway and has very secure yet cheap 8 Euro parking.
The biggest problem for drivers in Granada is that car entry into town is highly restricted and monitored by cameras that take picture of your license plate. So, if you don't register your license plate with your hotel ahead of time (they will inform the police that your car will enter town) you'll get a nasty ticket once you drive into the restricted zone. But even if you get access into town you get will get stuck in a mess of one-way streets...especially near the alhambra.
So why hassle when there is this great hotel that avoids that mess. Although this hotel is not in the center of town it is only a 15 minute busride into the middle of town or a 5 to 8 euro cab ride (depends on traffic and time of day). The only problem about the location is that the return bus ends before midnight so after midnight you must cab.
The hotel itself is very modern with a nice lounge that serves tasty sandwiches. The breakfast was expensive and not very impressive. The room was big, modern and clean. The bathroom was very clean and "trendy".
The only negative about the room was that the room was obviously smoked in even though we asked for a non-smoking room.
Overall the hotel is excellent if you are a driver. However, if you aren't driving then why hassle with the bus/cabs into town since there are other equivalent hotels in the heart of town
