We think this hotel is great value for money as it is only 70 Euros a night, we stayed 3 nights and it was worth every single euros. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids ,5 & 6 years old kids ). With most hotels we search for will refuse to have our family to stay in 1 room and make us book for another room. In this hotel they did not have a problem of adding an additional bed for us and the kids were free of charge. The internet wi-fi were free. The entire hotel is modern and clean. The bathroom is wonderful and the swimming pool is clean and adequate for the kids.
The location is not in the city centre but that was quite ok with us , as the bus that go to the city centre and back to the hotel is very frequent (every 10 mins). The bus is cheap at 1.2euro for 1 trip, but you can buy the 8 journeys for 5 euros. The trip to the city centre takes 10 mins not a hassle at all.
Alhambra was close by but not advisable to walk there as it's uphill all the way , taxi ride to Alhambra cost us 4 euros.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that travel to Granada.
We stayed at the Macia Real de la Alhambra on a weekend visit to Granada. We paid 70 euros and it was a great stay and incredible value. The hotel is modern and stylish in a minimalist way. There is underground parking (payable). There is a swimming pool and spa, so it is well equiped.
It is on the edge of Granada so you need either a car or to take taxis or buses. Both of the latter are cheap into the centre and the drive into town or the Alhambra is easy and fairly quick.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel unless you are looking for a central location or old world charm. It is neither, but as a really easy place to stay in Granada I would highly recommend.
My wife and I stayed here for one night, driving from Costa Blance to Marbella. We decided to stop in Granda to see the astounding Alhambra palace (and yes, the Alhambra is worth the trip).
We chose the Macia Real based on the reviews on trip advisor. And even though the excpectations were raised due too the good reviews, the hotel beat our excpecatations.
Yes, I have stayed at better hotels, but the I have paid twice or three times the 70 € we were charged. I think this is the best value for money hotel I have ever stayed in :-)
The rooms are very nice, with an even nicer bathroom. The lobby and bar area are modernly furnished, and give a good first impression of the place.
A few reviews have mentioned the location as a negative element - for us it was the other way around. We came by car, and sort of drove right in to the hotel (we just followed the signs for Alhambra Palace). Parking was easy, and the nesxt morning, when we where going to the Palace, we had just to drive uphill to the parking area.
We took the bus into town in the evening. It was easy, cheap and convenient.
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is clean and spacious and although little out of town, buses are inexpensive and frequent both into town and to the Alhambra. We found the staff to be unintrusive rather than inattentive, knowledgeable and always happy to help in English. The hotel is on a roundabout, but our room was excellently soundproofed - we heard no traffic from the room at all.
