This hotel is very modern, clean and comfortable. it is ideal if travelling by car, you just follow the ring road south towards the Alhambra (Ronda Sur) and when the road runs out on a mini roundabout, its there. Parking is well priced at just 8 euros a night.

Its a bit of a walk from the town centre, you probably could do it but it would be quite a hike, However there is a bus stop just outside the hotel which is only 1euro to anywhere in town which is great value. Buses are frequent (even on a sunday) and clean and tidy.

There is a bar nextdoor which is handy and has a very posh restaurant upstairs, which was however full when we were there, it might pay to book in advance if you wanted to use it. but the hotel restaurant had space on any given evening. There aren't many other restaurants and bars in the vicinity (we didn't see any but we didn't explore that much either) but loads in town so a taxi ride or night bus would be quite easy.

Overall, large, comfortable rooms. We got a great rate of £58 a night per double room from last minute. Great if you have a car and only about 5 mins from the town centre on the bus.

This is hotel is new and of a very high standard of service and cleanliness. It is a convenient hotel if travelling by car situated within a short drive of the Alhambra or a short bus or taxi ride into the city. The bus costs one euro and a taxi 5. We got a very good deal as it is a quiet time of year. On route to the Sierra Nevada for the skiing.

This was a awesome hotel for the price. It was very spacious from the lobby to the bathroom. They offered a free shared internet computer, bus stop right outside, very clean bathrooms, and a helpfull staff. The bus "33" was a 15-25 minute wait sometimes so we would often take a taxi that could take you to Alhambra or city center for 5 to 7E. The Airport taxi was about 30-35E. The city was great . We bought Alhambra tickets online with "Servicaxia", and picked them up with no wait at this building with 8 machines. You just put your credit card in and they print your advance booking tickets. Beware of the gypsies offering to give you a plant. Everybody else was friendly.

The Macia Real de la Alhambra is an excellent hotel for those visiting Granada with a car. The hotel has ample parking and the price is reasonable (8 euros a night as of Dec. 2007). It is especially convenient for getting to the parking at the Alhambra, because the hotel is next to the main access road for all Alhambra parking areas.

I don't know if I would recommend the hotel for someone traveling without a car, because there is nothing to do in the immediate area. The Alhambra is technically within walking distance, but the walk is long and up a steep incline, and along much of the route there is no sidewalk, so you're walking alongside a fairly busy street. There are buses, but I didn't see them running very frequently.

As for the hotel itself, it is very comfortable and quite new. The whole hotel has a very modern aesthetic that I found appealing. Even so, the vanity mirror in our room was broken (it hung down at an angle where it couldn't be used) and the covering of one of the ceiling light fixtures was hanging off at one end, which makes me wonder if the workmanship was a little shoddy.

Despite those small problems, this is a good hotel for those who come to Granada by car and are looking for comfort and style at a bargain price. I would certainly stay here again.
