My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights in May, 2008.
We did not find the location ideal and did not like the surrounding area.
Next time we would stay closer to the Alhambra.
Most of the hotel staff had extremly limited English.
The outdoor seating for the hotel restaurant is located in the internal courtyard that the bedrooms overlook. Despite wearing earplugs and the bedroom windows having shutters the noise from the patrons and staff when the restaurant closed kept us awake well into the early hours of the morning. As the restaurant staff noisely cleared away crockery and cutlery and moved tables and chairs they constanly spoke amongst themselves. When staff had finished in the courtyard they moved to the kitchen where the loud talking and the banging of kitchen implements continued and kept us awake. There was no effort made to reduce the noise from clearing and cleaning up or to keep their voices down to ensure the comfort of their hotel guests.
We bought the continental breakfast, for around AUS$30.00 for two, on our first morning and found it absolutely terrible for choice, taste and value.
If you can sleep through extended periods of extreme noise then the bedrooms and bathrooms are very well appointed, spacious and clean with large comfortable beds.
The shower pressure was very good and the hot water always hot.
To avoid disappoint I recommend you book your Alhambra tickets, on the internet, well in advance of your visit.

  • Liked — the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, large and comfortable beds, the good water pressure and hot water
  • Disliked — the noisy restaurant late at night

Stayed the 4th time in this hotel. The service is getting worse, especially the lack of taking responsibility from staff. There was very noisy construction work going on during my stay, especially in the early morning. I wouldn't care if one of them would tell me in advance but they stayed quiet until I made the experience the first Monday morning in this hotel. Needless to say that no one want to have construction noise during 2 weeks of vacation. I got another room of course, which was a bit less noisy than the other.
The other thing was that the breakfast was really nice in the past. Very simple but very nice. Now: there is a breakfast buffet, which is not nice any more. Coffee is bad, orange juice out of tetrapac, fruits out of a can, and a lot of food which is not really nice....for 10 Euro. My advice: there are a lot of very nice bars around which will provide you with a great breakfast for half of the price....

My wife stayed here 2 nights in May while traveling thru Spain. Thank goodness the taxi driver knew where the hotel was because it's tucked in with other shops and restaurants on a tight little street just a few blocks from Plaza del Sol and the cathedral. Nice roon, nothing fancy except for the lovely wood and tile ceiling. Bathroom were very modern. Our windows opened up to the central courtyard/restaurant which was lively late into the evening (just like all of Spain!).

Location and price are the key to this charming little hotel. Staff was friendly and very helpful in getting an early taxi. Alhambra is a must, but pay carefull attention to your time window. Pleasant walk from the hotel on a tree lined street.

Enjoy - you're on vacation!

Stayed here in April. Weather was beautiful. Couldn't fault the location just off the Plaza Nueva and in the heart of tapas bar land. Hotel small enough to be personable, but not in your face. Front of house staff knowledgeable and able to speak good English. We had room 601 on the 3rd floor(lift available) Room was of a good size with shuttered doors onto an inside courtyard. Large bathroom with afore mentioned shower. Rooms cleaned daily. Liked having a fridge in the room, something not always on offer in a hotel. Plenty of storage room and safe in room.
Previous reviewers have commented on how noisy the hotel was. I can honestly say that we didn't hear a thing and had 4 nights of deep uninterrupted sleep!
The only thing that let the hotel down I feel was the breakfast which just wasn't worth the money, not amount wise but quality wise. We never had any intention to have an evening meal in the hotel restaurant, but after the quality of the breakfast would definitely not have considered. This was my only criticism of the hotel but it didn't bother us in the slightest as the surrounding areas are awash with pavement cafes and bars.
We fell in love with Granada and are already planning our next trip. We'll be staying at Posada again as felt it couldn't be beaten for location, helpfulness of staff and value for money.
Granada is just stunning. You'll love it.

  • Liked — location, location, location.
  • Disliked — Breakfast, but was optional so wasn't a problem

We spent two nights at this hotel in Granada. The hotel is on a side-street just across the main street from the cathedral in an excellent location near the Albacain. It's an uphill but relatively short walk to the Alhambra. Also close-by are various restaurants and taverns. Free tapas are served with your first drink at taverns in Grenada! The room was very clean and bright, larger than most, with nice furnishings and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was very large with two sinks and modern shower with various spray options. (Ask for instructions if you can't figure out how to use it - the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful and speak some English for the Spanish-impaired.) The restaurant in the hotel is also very nice with an enclosed patio for outdoor dining and well-prepared dishes and nice wines. We were charged "off-season" rate that was comparable to other hostels in Spain that were not nearly as nice. I understand that summer rates increase greatly over "off-season" but I would recommend this excellent hotel.
