The Hostal Lima was the nicest place that we stayed during our visit to Spain. The room was beautiful, very nicely furnished and super clean. The owner, MariCarmen (I think. . .) was great. There is no elevator in one of the 2 buildings, and we were on the top floor! (Suite Caprichosa) But she grabbed one of our (fairly heavy) suitcases and dashed up the stairs with it. We arrived at the top a few minutes after her, huffing and puffing! She also said that she knew who we were by the sound of my husband's voice, which she recognized from phone calls. True or not, it was a nice touch, and who cares if the "antiques" are real or not, it's just a place to stay. We also had a miniature balcony.

The Hostal is located close to pretty much everything, meaning mainly the Alhambra. There is also a very nice "regular" (non touristy) shopping district directly east of the plaza where the Hostal is located, well worth checking out after being inundated with cheap souvenir shops.

We ate several times at the bar around the corner and made friends with the boys working there.

The Hostal Lima is an OUTSTANDING value for the money. We would stay there again and recommend it highly.

Excellent choice!
The hostal is in the city center... and the family who is in charge of the place is very nice and pleasant. ( + helpful for everything)
The rooms were really well furnished ( beds very confy) , and very quiet . The AC was very good, and the windows too.

There is also a small parking , but which was really convenient , as it is not public but private. The son of the lady took charge of our car, it was very nice.

We only spend one night, but I would strongly recommend you to stay more.

Despite the initial concern of finding the single room was not air conditioned, we found the 3 rooms we had here to all be of very good quality. They were all clean and quiet (the bar across the road was closed for refurbishment - that may have helped!), the air conditioning was efficient (and the single was fine with its fan), and the beds were comfortable. The location is decent, although a little bit further out than most hotels. Just don't believe the owner when he tells you about the "antiques"!

We stayed in Hostal Lima 2 in April during the Semana Santa. We arrived very late, but the house keeper had stayed up for us being very friendly and showing us our room. it was on the top floor, no lift available, but we travelled with light luggage. The room was tiny, but beautifully decorated, very, very clean with a nice bathroom (shower and toilet), also very clean. Aircondition/ heating worked fine. There is a nice bar round the corner for breakfast. The location is great, walking distance to the city center. We even walked up to the Alhambra, took us about 30mins. I can strongly recommend the Hostal Lima: good value for the price!
