My family stayed at the lovely Santa Isabel la Real for a two-night visit in Granada. I didn't find many reviews about the hotel when I booked it, though the few reviews did rave about it. The hotel turned out to be a great place to stay. It's in a converted mansion in the Moorish quarters (Albayzin), overlooking the Alhambra and the historic downtown of Granada. The frequent minibuses that take tourists to all the major sites stop right by the hotel, making it easy to get anywhere. You can walk to the famous St. Nicholas view point in a few minutes--the sight of the Alhambra lit up in a reddish glow at sunset was a magical moment for us. I highly recommend Casa Torcuato on Calle Aqua 20 nearby for a great and affordable dinner. The hotel staffer were friendly and very helpful. The good-size rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. The living room has tons of good reading materials and a laptop for Internet addicts. We would stay there again.
