My family stayed at the lovely Santa Isabel la Real for a two-night visit in Granada. I didn't find many reviews about the hotel when I booked it, though the few reviews did rave about it. The hotel turned out to be a great place to stay. It's in a converted mansion in the Moorish quarters (Albayzin), overlooking the Alhambra and the historic downtown of Granada. The frequent minibuses that take tourists to all the major sites stop right by the hotel, making it easy to get anywhere. You can walk to the famous St. Nicholas view point in a few minutes--the sight of the Alhambra lit up in a reddish glow at sunset was a magical moment for us. I highly recommend Casa Torcuato on Calle Aqua 20 nearby for a great and affordable dinner. The hotel staffer were friendly and very helpful. The good-size rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. The living room has tons of good reading materials and a laptop for Internet addicts. We would stay there again.

What a wonderful Inn we stayed at in Granada. I was traveling with my Mother and we found this inn on Trip Advisor. The Service was TOP NOTCH. They have 24 hour desk service, free computer with internet in the lobby for anyone to use, and will answer any questions and or help you to book reservations. The Inn offers Breakfast for a fee if you want a Continental Breakfast. The location is in the Old part of town, looking directly across at the Alhambra. There are many amazing restaurants in a very short walking distance, and great Flamenco , 15 minute walk. I hope to return to this wonderful Inn.

This small Hotel is a converted typical old style Spanish apartment with a cool central lobby with wooden balconies overlooking the public reception area.It is in "The Old Town" area with streets so narrow that you wonder how cars and busses get by but they do and often at the typically Spanish frantic pace but don't let that worry you as it just adds to the ambiance of the area. The spotless rooms are very well apointed to 4 star level and our friends even had a beautifull romantic brass bed !.There is a good selection of bars and restaurants close by or you can get a bus from the Hotel front door to the centre of Granada in 5 mins/ cost €1.
There is a nightime viewing area just yards from the Hotel which lets you view The Alhambra Palace in the distance ,you climb some old steps then turn to view the sight which will take your breath away!.
Finally the best part of this Hotel is the warm friendly staff, you really feel that they will do all they can to make your stay enjoyable from the moment you enter their world ,to they time it comes to bid adios !

This is a small, recently renovated hotel in the Albaicin - the old moorish quarter of Granada.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Tower room - which overlooks the Alhambra (although you do have roofs and cypress trees that get in the way it is still a lovely view). The room has a great en-suite and also has air-con which we had on all the time given the heat which means you can keep the windows shut - this is advisable because the room also overlooks the road - it is a small one-way road but can be noisy as it is cobbled and the little local buses go past regularly - the bus stop is right outside the hotel so if you don't want to walk down the hill into the town or indeed back up the hill to your hotel you can hop on the bus and it will drop you at the door. I loved this hotel - the rooms were lovely and the staff spoke English and couldn't have been more helpful or friendly.

We flew into Granada airport on Ryan Air from Liverpool - we only carried hand luggage - 10kgs is ample for a long weekend, which allowed us to walk straight off the plane at Granada and into a taxi - it cost 25 euros - and we were in the hotel within 30 mins of landing.

We pre-booked our tickets for the Alhambra a few weeks in advance. You have to pick them up from the ticket office on the day you visit - we booked for 9am - which meant that we had to get into the Nasrid Palace between 9am and 9.30am - this is about 10 minutes from the ticket office and when we arrived there at 8.50am there was quite a long queue to collect pre-booked tickets - we ended up having to walk very briskly to the Nasrid Palace to ensure we didn't miss our time slot. The Palace is worth it though.

My main gripe with Granada was the amount of graffiti - it was everywhere and be warned - they are also doing a massive amount of work on the roads in the centre of Granada - personally I wouldn't want to attempt to drive into the city.

We just returned from a 4 day Easter Break in Granada for "La Semana Santa" and we want to recommend a new hotel Santa Isabel la Real which opened few months ago. The hotel is located in the Santa Isabel la Real a lovely area of Granada next ot a great piazza with good bars. The hotel is small but well run by a local family. It could be described as a boutique hotel full of character, clean and functional and good value for money. Best room the Tower.

Have a nice holiday !
