We just returned from a Spain/Portugal trip and enjoyed our stay at the Santa Isabel la Real, a cozy renovated home in the Albayzin district of Granada. The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Nonsmoking property. Staff was friendly and helpful in general, particularly the kind woman who helped us at check in with our lost baggage coming in by air from Madrid, and offered to call the airline for us. However, the staff person the next day wasn't very helpful and didn't offer to help call the airline for us (not fluent Spanish speakers) when we still hadn't gotten our luggage, and in fact, suggested we call ourselves as "it was free or little cost" -- and we ended up getting charged for the call. Only a bit more than 1 Euro but still....
The breakfast was very good, but was an additional 10 EURO per person, quite pricey. But we didn't seem to find anything much better for breakfast around the hotel, so the convenience factor won out.
The local bus stopped right in front of the hotel and goes throughout town and to the Alhambra, which was super.
Overall, a nice stay but we might consider a more centrally located hotel in the future.
