We are so pleased to have found this small hotel/guest house on Trip Advisor - it wholeheartedly deserves to be the number one rated place to stay in Granada!
The location is stunning, right at the top of one of the many steep hills in Granada, about 5 minutes walk just below the Alhambra - perfect for visiting this site.
We met Anna from the hotel in the street, as she stopped to offer us help as our taxi driver had taken the wrong route to the hotel - just co-incidence that she was from the hotel. Both Anna and Manuel, the owner cannot do enough to help. They are both charming, helpful, friendly and genuinely wish to please. We don't think we have ever received quite such personal, but non-invasive service anywhere!
We stayed in La Torre, the hotel's best room - do splash out and go for it, it's absolutely beautiful and has an incredible view. We spent many hours enjoying a glass of wine, enjoying the view each afternoon after a morning's walking around Granada. The mornings in Spring are very fresh and by late afternoon the temperatures reached the high 20's - the room seemed to stay beautifully cool all the time though, which was a treat.
The Alhambra is quite incredible, even more than we'd imagined (do book tickets in advance, it's essential, as numbers are limited). Go early if you can as this seems to be the quietest time and lovely to enjoy the views and gardens before the crowds and late afternoon heat.
We loved Granada and walked for miles and miles, enjoying the city itself, the Albacin and Sacromonte districts, all of which are so different.
We loved the tapas culture (free food - perfect!) but as seems to be the norm in Spain, be prepared to eat late - finding somewhere for dinner before 8.30pm is almost impossible.
Enjoy - we certainly did!
