This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. We had first class service the whole time and the staff takes meticulous care of not only the hotel, but also the grounds. If possible, try to stay in the room called "El Torre." It is on the top floor and features a big bathroom as well as a very large balcony. My friends had that room and I stayed in the room called "Cipres," which was equally comfortable but had a slightly smaller patio.
The hotel itself is situated on a hill which overlooks all of Granada. You can have picturesque sunsets looking west and enjoy the snow capped Sierra Nevadas looking east. The whole time, your senses will be overwhelmed by the scents of lemon trees, orange trees, wisteria, and a bevy of other flowers of which I am not educated enough to identify. Walk all of the grounds, there are treasures around each corner and tucked away in small recesses.
Manuel, the main caretaker of the hotel, provides relentless service and even arrives early to prepare breakfast in the morning. Fresh fruit is picked from the trees and he makes a special tostada with tomato, salt, and olive oil that I will be implementing into my regular breakfast cycle. It is a short walk to the Alhambra and equal in its beauty.
