We stayed here for three days and loved everything about the place. The decor was great, stylish and minimal and more to our taste than other `boutique' hotels in Andalusia.

Our room was lovely, clean cool and spacious with a great modern bathroom and very comfortable beds. I didn't notice any noise and I'm usually a light sleeper. The location is perfect for everything you could want to see in Granada. The staff booked our tickets to the Alhambra and were helpful and charming throughout our stay.

We left totally chilled out having had the perfect romantic break.

Be Careful! There is no customer service and the help is not up to speed on parking lots in the area. The hotel gave us the name of a parking lot (must use parking garages and walk or taxi to hotel) and did not tell us it was not a 24 hour lot. Our luggage and car were locked in a public lot for two days. When we begged for help there was none. We were supposed to leave Granada but couldnt without our car! It was also a holiday and most hotels were full so we had no where to stay that night. We had to rent a second car, drive to our next location and return for the car. The person on duty the second day knew of a security buzzer on the back side of the garage! We could have gotten our car after all. When we emailed the hotel to tell them of our problems we received NO response. I sent three messages with no reply. It was a cool hotel in a good location but horrible customer service. Keep your fingers crossed you don't need their help during your trip. Bring ear plugs, very noisy from street activity.

We have just returned from 2 nights at the 'El Ladron de Agua'.

We loved the blend of the old and new in this hotel. We had a room at the front of the hotel with a small balcony giving views up to the Alhambra. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well - no problems with noise. The bathroom was well equipped (including a jacuzzi bath) and the blend of the old (wooden ceilings, floors and window shutters) and the new (bathroom fixtures, flatscreen TV) worked well for us.

The breakfast choice reflected that this is a relatively small hotel, but it was fresh, tasty and more than adequate. We particularly liked the freshly squeezed orange juice.

The hotel is in a great location, with bars and restaurants close by & with easy access to the Alhambra (bus stop 2 mins walk). Unable to book on-line, we booked our Alhambra tickets through the hotel. I would strongly recommend you pre-book your tickets, to save on queuing time and to allow you to plan your day at the Alhambra, rather than having to work around your otherwise allotted entry times.

The staff at the hotel were great - very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed in this hotel for one night in April 2006. On entering the hotel the original courtyard has been enclosed and covered with marble, in a very minimalist way, taking the town house charm away. We stayed in the suite in the bell tower. Whatever you do do not stay in this room as we got no sleep at all as a result of street noise. This probably has got something to do with the fact that the suite has windows all round. Half of the other hotel rooms face the street, over looking the Alhambra, so be careful. The room itself was nice, but lacked the warmth of other converted Spanish style town houses that we have stayed in. When asked did we have a good stay we said that we could get little sleep, the manger did not even offer an apology and on other occasions was unhelpful. The breakfast was simple; nothing was cooked to order it was self service cereals hams and pastries.

In summary this hotel is in a very good location, however I honestly feel there is better out there for the money, it may however be to your taste. The hotel felt very clinical.

A beautiful hotel with a great mix of the old and the new. We especially liked the modern approach for the lobby and the interior "courtyard". The library is warm and welcoming and offers a computer for internet access. All around peaceful and relaxing.

Our room was very nice, with a comfy bed, and everything was spotlessly clean. A good and modern bathroom. Earplugs took care of some street noise. We noticed that the original ceilings in our bedroom were still in place. Very impressive. A lot of TLC was put into removating this building.

People at the front desk and at breakfast were nice and helpful - and spoke good English. We had e mailed the hotel in advance of our visit to book reservations for the Alhambra and all went very well. This is a much more convenient way than to try to book tickets online where nothing was available weeks before our visit!

We liked the breakfast choices - with excellent coffe and orange juice.

The location of the hotel is excellent - at the foot of the Albaicin and close to the Alhambra bus stop. It is also a nice walk coming back from the Alhambra (going downhill). We were not very lucky with restaurants in the Albaicin and up the street but this is just our experience. However I really liked our lunch at the La Mimbre by the entrance of the Alhambra. Delicious salads with a nice rosé wine.

I agree with a previous posting warning about driving to the hotel : I would not try this! My husband is an excellent driver who has dealt with many other challenges but this was not fun at all. Directions to the hotel did not work because of road construction and we quickly ended up in the maze of the Albaicin. Thanks to a very nice lady who lead us on foot through a few tough spots, we were able to find our way. However, we had to go through the narrowest street you can imagine (we had to fold our side mirrors to squeeze by). Once at the hotel, there is no spot to unload, and by the time we were receiving instructions to get to a parking, a long line of irate drivers was lining up behind us. Public parking requires another tour through the area and is 20 euros a day. I recommend the bus or train to go to Granada.

In summary, I warmly recommend this hotel and I suspect that it will get more expensive as tiem goes by.
