This is a very comfortable hotel in a good location. This is an NH hotel and they are always comfortable, clean and smart. It was in a busy place (Puerta Real) but noise was not a problem. Our room was great - everything you might need was there,
We did not have breakfast at the hotel - instead we went to Pasteleria Lopez-Mesquita across the road in Reyes Catolicos and had marvellous coffee and pastries - top quality - in great surroundings - very traditional and very popular with the locals.
It was very easy to get a taxi or little bus up to the Albaicin at any time of the day. We did toy with the idea of staying in the Albaicin area where there are very characterful hotels but we were glad we stayed here because it was so comfortable.
We had booked our trip to the Alhambra online before we left home and it all worked out well as you can pick your date and time of entry. It was an incredible experience - an amazing sight! We had dinner in a carmen I think it was Las Tomasas which overlooked the Alhambra which was lit up at night - it was magical. The food was a little disappointing but the view and the terrace were atmospheric. We had a good dinner at Restaurante Sevilla near the Royal Chapel. A small dining room but very traditional and charming.
There were great sights to see but would not have managed so well without Rick Steves book - it put the whole of Granada in perspective - buses, taxis, sights, restaurants, cafes, layout of the city and opening times for everything, never leave home without it. Off to Cordoba next on early train. We would stay at this hotel again.
