“Lovely hostel so close to Alhambra”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

The hostal is located close to the lovely square with all kinds of restaurants and shops.
It is within a short walking distance to the Alhambra. The friendly staff is very helpful and
kind. One of the big pluses, is the restaurant with fabulous breakfast, and snacks.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

Went to Granada on a whim whilst in Spain, without booking ahead which I usually do. The Landazuri was the first hotel I walked past, and looked attractive outside and in the lobby. However, as it was on the road up to the Alhambra I thought it would be expensive. Having looked at a couple of other places, one particularly nasty one which the girl in the bus station (selling maps) had recommended (so beware!), I went back and enquired. Result, really reasonable price for a double with bathroom, the whole interior of the hotel was a delight, the attached cafe was excellent and ........... my room was on the third floor (301), and I walked past a doorway a couple of times before I realised it opened onto a rooftop terrace! A really pretty rooftop terrace, with views of both the Alhambra and the Cathedral, beautiful both at night and in the day. I really can't recommend this place enough; hey, it's a little worn at the edges, but immaculately clean, very comfortable, and overseen by very helpful and friendly staff (English speaking, which helped too).
Stayed there 2 nights, and then went to Malaga for my pre-booked night in the Malaga Palacio, where I paid 4 times as much for a double, with bathroom and a rooftop terrace. I enjoyed my stay there, but it just served to confirm what a little gem I'd luckily discovered. Go there!

Room Tip: 301 has a quirky bathroom, with a massive tank by the ceiling and a bath that you have to use the sh...

This is a cheap hostel in an amazing location just minutes away from the Alhambra. We probably would have enjoyed it if the owners had reserved a car space for us as they promised, but they didn't and this did ruin our stay unfortunately as it's a nightmare to park anywhere in Granada so we were counting on this. The owners are nice enough but not incredibly helpful. Rooms are basic and could be a bit cleaner as could the shared bathrooms.

Dear Madam: If a customer needs parking they included it at the booking in the same time like the room. If you have not booked the car park and when you arrive there is no place available I do not consider it my responsibility. Many people try to park on the street to save money and when they see it is not possible and it is very difficult they regret about their decision not to be booked in advance. So a good information for all people who drive to this city is to book parking in advance. We also give the authorization to drive at the historical center and we take care of any arrangement that our customer can have with their cars.

The people who run this pension are very nice and helped me find everything I needed (Granada is where I spent an "errands day" while on a longer trip). The hotel itself is very attractive, the breakfast is good, the location is very convenient. Clean and well run. Recommended.

We didn't stay here, but were recommended to try the cafe for breakfast by Lucy from GoGranada. So impressed were we that we had breakfast on several occasions, it was well prepared, great coffee, good tostadas and also excellent eggs and bacon. Did I mention the good value, and the reasonable cost? I want another cup of their coffee now. One of the places where they give you a cupful of tomato, not just a tostada with a smidgin of tomato on top. Do try.

I've just stayed at the Landazuri for 2 short stays of 2 nights and 3 nights and have stayed there several times in previous years. I love everything about this hotel - the location is superb on the road leading up to the Alhambra - there is no traffic noise! There's a beautiful roof terrace giving fantastic views of the Alhambra and the city. It really is a serene place to sit and have a drink in the evening. The rooms are really spacious and are cleaned every day. The hotel is family run and every member of the family is polite, helpful and friendly. Very reasonable prices too - our room had a balcony looking out to the front and cost a mere 34 euros. The rooms with bathrooms are of course a little more but the shared bathroom was 2 steps away from the room and was spotlessly clean so not a problem at all! In my view, this is a fantastic place to stay in the beautiful city of Granada so check it out!

Room Tip: The room with the nice balcony is 205 - 2 beds with shared bathroom. Great value for 34 euros.

When we arrived we were shown 2 rooms and told they were 30 euros so we shifted from the hotel that we were staying in cause it would be cheaper then the 4 star for 50 euros a night. The room smelled and you can hear EVERY sound in the hotel. When someone flushes the toilet, takes a shower, closes the door, walks around, talks in there room. YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING. When we went to check out they told us it would be 45 euro but they would give us a 5 euro discount.WHAT DISCOUNT??? They said it would be 30 Euros. The owner said that she never said that then the WHOLE FAMILY CAME INTO THE LOBBY to yell at us. The Momma, the daughter, the man standing in the hallway. All I did was ask and they jumped down my throat. We never would have switched hotels if it would have been for 10 EUROS. Then she tried to come up with a bunch of excuses and pointed to some paper with prices on the wall. WHY DID SHE SHOW US 2 ROOMS AND SAY 3O EUROS, THEN WHEN WE GO TO PAY Say "YES WE HAVE 30 EURO ROOMS BUT NOT YOUR ROOM". If you say 30 euros then give us the 45 euro room HOW SHOULD WE KNOW???! NOT HONEST and TERRIBLE ROOM.I've traveled all over the world and not had a problem like that before. Spend another 10 euros and stay at a 4 star around the corner. HOTEL MACIA Plaza is wonderful and the staff was amazing!

Room Tip: DON'T stay here. Macia Hotel is 10 euros more and the best deal on the block

Dear Madam:
We are sorry that you misunderstand the fees are clearly marked on reception in a large poster. 45 euros per double room with bathroom and 34 euros for double with shared bath per room and night. Even we offered you a discount of 4 euros per room with shared bathroom. We ALWAYS inform of the two rates and show the two types of room, and it seems illogical that you choose the best room for the lowest price so we can also feel that you want to cheat to pay less and is a DISHONEST and TERRIBLE strategy. All prices are clearly posted, so we do not feel responsible for you not understand that a room with more services is more expensive than a simpler one.
