Stayed late March 2007 in the top floor suite. Staff extremely welcoming and friendly and speak excellent English - which always helps!
Hotel relatively recently refurbished in a Moorish theme. This has been done in a very thoughtful and loving way - running through from building detais to furnishings and fittings.
Suite spacious and comfortable
Hotel nicely positioned behind a main thoroughfare , however immediate surroundings not the best !
The pricing of the rooms are very good value.
If you are not impressed by this hotel then there must be something wrong with you !

This hotel exillent in price and equipment, and the stuffs are also helpful. But it's not easy to get to by driving.
However we are frightened when we checked out. We booked a flamenco show with transport through their help, but we didn't get on the bus in the time and place they told. Therefore we aksed the reception why we missed the bus, if we went to the wrong place, and where it exactly is(because the boss and the lady told different location). We don't understand why they were not willing to point out the exact place on a map, and they say everyone else got on the bus, we can't because of our fault.(But EVERYELSE speach Spanish)
I gave the lady in reception my credit card for paying the bill and talked to her to clerify if the old lady on the street leaded us to the wrong place, then I signed the bill. After they got my sign, the boss showed up in the counter, and shouted" ADIOS! ADIOS!" to us 2 girls. He blaimed us that we think that we can't get on the bus was their fault. (If I really think so, I would't sign the bill before I got the answer.)
I think no matter how good service ther served, they really massed up my memory for a lovely place and hotel.
It's very unfriendly to people who can't speach Spanish.

We spent three nights at this charming liitle hotel just off Granada's Gran Via and it really got our tour of Andalucian cities off to a very good start. The bus from the airport dropped us off within 2 minutes of the little back street where you'll find it. Our room was clean, well-appointed, Moorish in style and on the same level as the attractive courtyard. The Abadia has no cafeteria so you have to make your own breakfast or go to one of the many cafes in the area. Twice at lunchtime we used the tables and chairs to picnic in the courtyard -- a very pleasant setting and warm enough in what was a chilly late March. Granada's tourist attractions such as Plaza Nueva, the Albaicin and of course the Alhambra are all within about 20 minutes walking distance. Most importantly, the manager was very helpful when we needed the onward coach to Cordoba. In his excellent English he explained that the coach station was further away than shown in our travel guide, so saving us too much walking and/or missed coaches. We'd definitely book there again. Good value too.

Found the hotel with the help of TomTom and what a gem! Right in the heart of the city, easy walking distance to the Alhambra Palace and the old city as well as the more modern city centre. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, our bathroom even had a jakuzzi bath in it which was much appreciated after a day in the sun! Hotel staff were friendly and the room had a fridge which was essential as the hotel does not offer food. Only down side was that although there was a kettle no coffee was provided. Over all a great hotel for a couple of nights to explore the city.

Considering some of the bad standard hotels I've stayed at in Granada before, the Abadia Hotel was a hidden wonder in a city full of cheap tacky hotels. The staff were friendly, most spoke English, they even kept our luggage an extra day after we checked out.
The only complaint is that we found there was a lot of internal noise in the hotel, we stayed on the very top floor and endured what sounded like a tumble dryer going til 4am - each of the 3 nights we stayed. In the morning trying to have a lie in, staff cleaning at 9am were very noisy & as they didn't speak English trying to get them to be quiet wasn't pleasant!
If the hotel could get the noise problem sorted it would have a perfect rating in my view.
