We stayed here for two nights on route to Almeria.

The hotel looks exactly as it does on the website.

Each room is individually styled and named and the terrace is very charming with excellent views of the cathedral and the Alhambra.

Our room had an orange and white look to it, stone basin, corner bath, with a juliet balcony in the bedroom.

It was clean and a little old fashioned (no plasma tv) bu this is part of its charm. I don't agree with other reviews that the street is "ugly". It's a side street in a very beautiful city.

Breakfast seemed expensive at €20 for both of us so we wandered into Plaza Trinidad and had something for half that.

There's parking at a reasonable rate close by in municipal car park.

  • Liked — Charming hotel, very individual boutique feel.
  • Disliked — Nothing to dislike, breakfast a bit pricey.

We stayed in Casa de Federico for an extended weekend in may. We chose an exterior room with a semicircular bath. from the moment you step into the hotel you are in the care of Casa de Federico. starting with this individual fresh smell and the choice interior design ( very unique / collection of Art and Design ) we were welcomed in spanish. we kindly asked if we could speak in english and were stunned how perfect the receiptionist started speaking and after the formalities he showed us the terrace while they finished to clean our room ( we came at 10 am and the room wasnt ready by then ) . what a view ...
aftr 15 minutes waiting what a nice surprise when we saw the room. a continuation of the expirience since going into the front door and beeing on the terrace, very well toughthrough design , not huge , very clean and " new " matresses !!!( we had a few bad expiriences through our travels with matresess ). perfect for two people romancinig or visiting Granada. we could have easily spend three days without leaving our room .
We loved beeing right in the middle of Granada just footwalk away from the Cathedral , the Footmarket ( mmh ) and local quality restaurants .... there is no other hotels around making us feel closer to the local with no tourist in sight. Also quite beeing in a car restricted area without no bars or noisy establishments nearby.
we had no travelguides , but thanks to the most caring and helpful staff we had a first hand granada experience.
this is what i want from travelling .
if you are into a mainstream catalogued service this is nothing for you.
Casa de Federico is a detailled loving hidden treasure and very recomendable for the price we payed .

  • Liked — the rooms are so cosy and the terrace is a stunner
  • Disliked — there is absolutely nothing

It was really hard to choose a hotel in Granada, as most hotels we saw had mixed reviews. We chose Casa de Federico when we saw the website - it looked very charming and location was walking distance from some attractions in the city. We arrived by car, and the parking was far from the hotel, so we had to drag the luggage for 700m or more. The street it is in is desert, dark, with some tenements and abandoned buildings. The street really ends in a better area, but walking through it, specially at night, is not nice and feels a little dangerous. We were given a room at the top floor, really small (we had no room to open 2 medium suitcases) and we could hear all the noise and the talking coming from the common terrace above us. Room is so small the we did not see any charm. Brekfast is in a restaurant beside the hotel, we did not even eat it as it was not very convenient.

  • Liked — It was close to the tourist spots in the city
  • Disliked — All the rest, specially room size and the street it was in

Great location from which to enjoy the charming city of Granada. Convenient to most plazas and restaurants. The staff was very cheerful and helpful.
Marginal old hotel with very small room with old barn wood paneling and wall rack for clothes that competed with the bed for space. Bathroom had engrained dirt in tile floor.
Overpriced (10 euro per person) marginal breakfast...not much more than continental.
Enjoyed stay in Granada, but hotel was marginal.
Would not recommend, very unusual for us.

  • Liked — Location and helpful, friendly staff
  • Disliked — Very small rooms, dirty floor in bath and overpriced breakfast

We booked our room for two nights via innsofspain.com in February, with breakfast included. When we arrived, we were told that it was a mistake, and breakfast (€10/person/day) would not be included, even though we had written confirmation that it would be. The management offered a paltry €2 discount on breakfast. Began our stay on a fairly sour note.

The room was pretty, but relatively small and stuffy; the window opens to a pretty cramped and warm airshaft running through the center of the hotel.

On the second day, we tried to return to our room to get some luggage, and found the hotel locked with noone at the reception desk to let us in! When we came back later, the receptionist said that she was probably upstairs attending to guests on the roof terrace. We noticed this with breakfast as well; the receptionist was in charge of setting up the breakfast room, which means that whenever anything needs to be done in the hotel, the reception desk would be empty and guests wouldn't be able to enter the hotel.

Overall, a terribly managed, understaffed hotel with pretty, albeit small rooms and high prices.

  • Liked — pretty decor
  • Disliked — terrible management, reception
