“Proper 5 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

I stayed here for two nights over the weekend, checking on Friday 11 January.

This a beautiful and well maintained hotel, which consists of two parts (an old and a new building). The old building is renovated to its original 19th century's feature. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by a free upgrade to a luxurious suite on the third floor, which was lush and very comfortable. The room had high ceilings (6 meters high I believe), with amazing ceiling pairings, reminded me of a suite I saw in Hampton Court.

The location can't be beaten: 15 minute to Albayacin, around 40 to Alhambra (all the way to the top) and city centre is just a short 5 to 10 minute walking distance.

Breakfast is good: wide variety and amazing & very attentive staff. The restaurant also offers a variety of contemporary dishes during lunch and dinner. I had dinner on Saturday which was sublime. Good value for money.

The staff, one by one, were extremely helpful and friendly. Anything from arranging a ticket to a flamenco show to ordering a taxi to the airport. Definitely going back again.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay! The staff were most helpful, especially assisting us with organising our tour to the Alhambra which was impossible to do on-line and suggesting restaurants. Our room (20) was enormous but the noise from our neighbours and the reception kept us awake. Breakfast was enjoyable and we had fabulous service. The room's amenities were excellent. Parking our rental car was E19- cheaper than some of the other places we have stayed at in Spain. The hotel's location is central. Despite the noise issue, we had an enjoyable stay!

My husband, teenage daughter & I stayed here for 3 nights earlier this week during our first visit to Granada. This charming old property has a newer wing in the back and it is very stylishly designed with lots of glass and floor to ceiling windows. I would have liked to get a look at the rooms in the older part, but we were very comfortable in the modern rooms we had. The hotel is perfectly located with everything a short walk away and some of the most helpful staff I've encountered anywhere.
My only negatives about the hotel were the breakfast, which is hideously expensive and falls a little short of delivering for the price and the lighting. Those big windows make for great lighting in the daylight, but come nightfall the stylish mood lighting in the rooms and bathrooms leaves a little to be desired.

My wife and I stayed at the Palacio de Los Patos for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. When I booked I made a request online to allocate a nice room because we were celebrating a special occasion. At the check-in we were offered a very nice and specious room in the old building and free Tapas and drinks. We enjoyed every minute during our stay. The location of the hotel is great, 5 minutes walk to the city centre and 10min walk to the old city. The breakfast wasn't up to the level of the hotel. Apart from that, this hotel is one of the best I ever been to.

Room Tip: Our room in the old building was really nice, if you are a light sleeper try to avoid rooms on the r...

I arrived completely exhausted. The hotel employees were wonderful. The first room, in the new part of the building, wasn't so nice. Large windows in a corner room over a very noisy street. I couldn't sleep, so they put me in the Presidential suite for two nights. It was incredible, but I never would pay $750 for it. They were very helpful with everything.

Second stop on our beautiful tour across Andalucía was city of Granada and Hotel Hospes de los Patos. We took the bus from Cordoba, which was very nice choice; olive trees all around and all the way to Granada.
Hotel is at the city center, near shopping and tapas bars in Calle Navas, and not too far away from old part of the city, Albaizin (approximately 20 minutes easy walk) and Alhambra (approx. 45 minutes' walk, all the way to the top).
Location is great, if you like to be at the new part of the city and if you want to have restaurants and bars near you.
We have booked the Deluxe room in old part of hotel, because I thought it would be nice combination of new and old.
The room we got # 15 was nice and all the amenities were good (especially professional hair drier), but the room location was on the ground floor just across restaurant and in front of the courtyard where are all tables from the restaurant located (in spring and summer). We could hear everybody going to and from the restaurant for breakfast or just passing by. I can only imagine how is that in spring/summer time when everybody is sitting in nice courtyard having breakfast and talk.
The room itself consisted of two rooms and the bathroom in the middle. There was enough place for our daughter to play around.
This time, I, again, took the opportunity to take a look around the hotel with the hotel staff, so here are some conclusions: The rooms in the old part, only on higher floors are much nicer with wooden ceiling, lot of light than the one on the ground floor which we have got. Also, if you like modern design, I would totally recommend new part of the hotel in which the rooms are very spacey and nicely decorated (in basic category - Dreamer room)
Reception staff and the restaurant staff are nice and made our stay relaxing.
The breakfast was very good; there was a good selection of fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, jamon Iberico, cheese, croissants, juices, coffee... Practically the same as it was in Hospes Palacio del Bailio in Cordoba.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone who are looking for centrally located hotel near shopping and restaurants, but if you prefer old part of the city and its fine examples of Moorish construction try to find hotel in Albaicin. This part of the city is very, very nice and romantic with its beautiful narrow streets and really nice restaurants with Alhambra view!

Room Tip: The rooms in the old part, on higher floors are much nicer with wooden ceiling, lot of light than...
