Excellent stay you can feel the peacefulness of the place from the first moment you arrive and the staff make you feel really wellcome!
You cannot stay in the hotel without visiting its Restaurant !

We stayed in a junior suite, room 40, located on the 4th floor. It was actually an oversized room withj no separation between the sitting area and the sleeping area. It was decorated totally in white, except for a partial wood floor. It had 1 King bed, a small desk and chair (with a TV attached to the wall above the desk), 2 comfortable swivel chairs, and a leather coffee table. The bedroom/sitting room size was about 18' x 20'. The style is VERY modern. The room was very quiet and the A/C was excellent. The room has a cathedral type ceiling. The bathroom is 1/2 level (6 steps down) below, although is a private bathroom, and has a tub and separate shower. It has only one wash basin which is extremely shallow and is difficult to use. The bathroom was provided with no washcloths, so you had to use a hand towel to wash in the shower. While it was common years ago not to provide washcloths, most hotels today do and it was annoying not to have them here. There was also no place in the bathroom other than a tiny table to store personal items. It is just a poorly designed bathroom. The entire room lacked functionality, frankly. There was limited space to store clothes.

There were lots of windows in the room which provided a lot of light when the shutters were open. Windows blocked all noise.

Our friends had room 30, a junior suite on the 3rd floor. It was about the same size as ours. The difference being the bathroom had two of the very shallow sinks, equally poor functionality, and was quite dark. We all agreed room 40 was better.

The jr. suites here were extremely expensive and simply did not provide a lot of value for the money. Breakfast was charged separately at 18 Euros per person, also very expensive. Eggs were cooked to order and there was a small buffet of fruits, breads, and cereals.

The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute walk from the cathedral and from the shuttle bus for the Alhambra. Grenada was the busiest city we visited in Spain. Although it is not the largest by any means, it has a tremendous number of people walking up and down streets day and night, and extremely high percentage of whom were either pregnant or pushing baby carriages. It simply did not have the calmness of Seville or Cordoba. The Alhambra is definitely a "Must See" - allow about 4 hours.

I found the modern decoration a bit strange, and some features were missing as they would have looked out of place.

Excellent room, very confortable bed and nice firm pillows. The bathroom and shower were all ultra modern and made of marble and slate with frosted glass walls.

We were above the kitchen and heard nothing.

Staff were excellent and very helpful.

The food was excellent and we ate in every night.

Having stayed in the Hospes Palacio del Bailio in Cordoba, part of the same hotel family, we had very high expectations. This hotel, while convienently located and nicely designed, was not quite up to par. The biggest problem, though, was the noise, when made sleep very difficult.
