We were dreading our stay at this hotel having read some of the reviews and nearly changed our whole trip - SO pleased we didn't! We stayed at this hotel for a whole 2 weeks and wouldn't have changed a thing!
The room was huge and kept immaculately clean with lovely big fluffy towels; very efficient air-conditioning and incredible views, we had a room on the 11th floor.
The hotel staff were polite, friendly and helpful at all times and generally spoke impeccable english but I do believe that if you prepare yourself with a little spanish it goes a long way when you're in spain!
We didn't actually eat in the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that but we did have room service on a couple of occasions and found it to be quick, good quality and very reasonable.
As for the hotel's position.... it is a little walk from places like Plaza Nueva but quite honestly its worth avoiding them. Its hyped up for tourists - over-priced and very average service. The Vincci is really close to some fantastic bars and restaurants that are used by the Spanish - a much better indicator. There is a 15 min walk to the cathedral etc but its pretty and flat and there are plenty of places on the way to sit and have a drink and very good tapas. Can particularly recommend the tapas at Bar Plaza in Plaza Universidad!
The hotel is also well served by public transport links, particularly buses, so getting around is straightforward and cheap, 1 euro for pretty much anywhere in the city.
All in all this is a great base for exploring Granada and next time we go back we'll definitely be staying there again.

the pictures on the website are nothing like the dump that this place really is. I was conned into paying 4 star prices for this horrible place. Foul smelling hotel corridors, dirty linen in rooms, terrible room service, poor parking facilities. There is always a long, long wait to speak with the one recptionist on duty, and he/she is always in a hurry to get on. Good luck if you need a porter. Enjoy the slapdash breakfast. Oh yes, I forgot that you have to pay extra to use the safe in the room ! Avoid this one like the plague. Granada is a wonderful city otherwise

We got a good deal on this hotel in Granada during January '07. We paid Eur 60 per night for family including 9 month old baby.

The hotel is reasonably central and you can walk to any of Granada's attractions. It's a little dated, but the room was fine. Our only complaint was that they seemed to have racked up the heating and we couldn't get the room cool at night.

We also asked for a kettle which they couldn't provide. We needed it for our 9 month old for sterilising bottles and making formula. They were very helpful in the bar though and gave us all the boiling water we needed.

As we were with a baby, it was nice to have a TV in the room (couldn't realy stay ou to late). I don' suppose it's a big thing, but they didn't have all the stations they advertised and when e asked about BBC they told us it wasn't working.

Room was comfortable enough. Staff were friendly enough. The hotel is supposed to be a 4 star, but I'd have put it more of a 3 star.

For a few nights in Granada it's fine, but not if you're looking for luxury or something special.

Stayed for 3 nights from 20th October. The location was very good for us as we had tickets to see Bruce Springsteen at the Plaza de Toros, & the hotel is only a 5 minute walk away.
Good Points: location, the centre is also a comfortable 15 min walk; Granada itself: so much to see & do; view from the bedroom window
Neutral Points: breakfast only ok & not good value @ €11; major roadworks on the Avenida de la Constitucion although we were not disturbed by any noise
Bad Points: thin bedroom walls; room decor now a bit tired

The Bar Madrid, just around the corner from the hotel is worth a visit.

We will definately visit Granada again, but will probably not stay at the Vincci

I recently stayed 3 nights.

The hotel is located 10min walk from the old town and around 40 min walk from Alhambra.

The hotel looks horrible from outside but the interior is far much better and been refurbished recently.

Our car was parked by the valet on arrival.

The reception staff were professional and speak a good english.

Our room was on the 14th floor (the hotel is located on the top floors of the building), so we had a great view over Granada. The room has a very large window, so it is very bright. The room was large had a derk/chair and a separate reading table & armchair.
The furniture was in very good state. Bed was comfortable and nice marble bathroom complementary amenity.

The breakfast is an amazing value, a huge selection. For 11 euros you have everything if you can wish for: selection of cereals, selection of cheeses, selection of cold meat, cooked breakfast, large selection of cakes on top of the danish and bread. As well as a large selection of fruits (pear, peach, pineapple, grapefruit as well as tomato, corn...), water, sparkling wine, juices (note orange juice was freshly squeeze unlike other hotels nowadays). Excellent quality.

Well I definately recommend this hotel, excellent location and very good service.

Tip If you wish to visit Alhambra: Note the Palace inside Alhambra has restricted spaces, so to avoid disappointment book your ticket in advance (it's worth to visit)there is no ticket for the palace on sale on the day, and you will definately miss something. Allow more than 40minutes before the indicated time on the ticket because you will have to queue for quite a while then walk more than 10 minutes and queue again. If you miss your time slot , they wont accept you. Also bring an ID if have booked in advance.

  • Liked — The cleanliness and brightness of the room
  • Disliked — Soundproofing is not that good
