This was a lovely little hotel full of character.Could do with a couple more staff to help with luggage and general problems. We couldn't get our air con to work but there was nobody available to check it out. As it turned out, the evenings were chilly and we didn't need it! Breakfast perfectly adequate. Taxi to airport terrific. Only bad thing was the restaurant we booked which is recommended by the hotel....the Mirador de Morayma. This is in a beautiful location but the service is the worst we have come across.We booked well in advance but after two hours, we had still only had our starters and drunk all our wine. We were hungry, cold and fed up.Asked to see the manager but he/she wasn't available. Apparently they thought we had been served already!! Needless to say, by 11.00pm we'd had enough and left in search of tapas!!!
Alhambra was spectacular and we had a great meal at La Mimbre just outside the exit. Thought it would be toursity and expensive but not at all. Granada is beautiful and I would recommend this hotel.

This was my favourite hotel in all of Spain! I loved the atmosphere. Rooms were small, but clean, classy - there was even chocolate on the pillows - what's not to love. No kettle/coffeemaker in room, but free coffee and tea available all day long downstairs. Beautiful courtyard with fountain makes for a great common area. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location in old part of town - very central.

This hotel was great. The staff were very helpful.

Rooms comfortable. Bathroom not that big, but very functional. Central Spanish courtyard – very Spanish, lots of atmosphere – but does mean it’s slightly noisy.

Great location just off Plaza Nueva. Near the bus that goes up to Alhambra.

Plaza Nueva/Elvira area - lots of great bars. Some of the standing bars have free tapas with your drinks. Great option for a snack after a lunch out.

Tips for Alhambra – before visiting Alhambra, walk up to San Nicolas (Plaza San Nicolas) for a great view of Alhambra – gives you a good overview and an idea of the scale of the place. The timing on the ticket relates to the entry to Palacios Nazaries – allow minimum 1 hour before this time to have a look around at the other buildings (or afterwards). Additional time for the gardens. Book as far in advance as possible (can do on internet).

What a charming restored mansion this was with a great central location (right next to Plaza Nueva) and across the Alhambra (though you have to walk a few steps up the tiny street to get a view of the Alhambra).

We stayed in the best room in this hotel, room number 22 which promised "views to the alhambra" - but in reality you could only see a small portion of the Alhambra's Alcazaba (so I just ignored the promise the hotel made about this room or else I would have been too disappointed).

The room was perfect, quiet and very comfy and so was the bathroom. It was on the third and last floor and climbing the stairs all the way up with luggage was sort of challenging but it didn't matter too much and I wasn't expecting a lift in a 16th century restored mansion. By the way, this was a typical Moorish style mansion with a central patio and rooms around it on all 4 sides (see pictures).

If you walk straight up the street (not really straight, rather straight up the hill) you will reach San Nicolas viewpoint - which is a must see if you like to look at Alhambra from across the hill. We went there at sunrise and sunset - both were breathtaking - though you will not see any crowd at sunrise and if you are a photographer like myself - you can take some outstanding pictures at sunrise and sunset of the Grand Alhambra.

I'd recommend this hotel and stay there again - though I wouldn't mind paying 15 euros less for a room without Alhambra views ;)
