We picked this hotel because it was the highest-rated on TripAdvisor that fit our budget. It's not a terrible hotel, but our experience did not live up to the ecstatic reviews by some previous reviewers.
The room was small but not as small as say rooms in Japan; the main problem is poor layout, especially lack of shelf/counter/desk space, including in the bathroom. We had to keep all our stuff in our suitcases. Breakfast is extra, taxes are extra. In most of Europe, radiators must have thermostatic valves by law, but here there was only an on/off valve, so the room was always either too hot or too cold.
We had an outside room but it only looked upon the alley. This being an old part of an old city, that was OK I guess, but we paid a hundred euros a night plus tax so was expensive for what we got..
