Hesperia has a very central location in Granada, within walking distance of the main squares, the Alhambra and the Albaycin. I went there by car and that's a bit of an adventure. Fortunately I had studied the city map and Google Earth very carefully and I managed to find it in one go, driving through a maze of extremely narrow streets without signs to the hotel (except for one sign when you are nearly there). The hotel has a parking garage which will cost you EUR 14 per night.
The lobby and reception are in a beautiful patio, very stylish. The staff are friendly and helpful and they speak English. The room was modern and stylish, not too big but quite good for European standards. The bathroom was sheer luxury, with a huge bathtub (I really enjoyed the hot bath in the evening).
The hotel made a very clean and modern impression, quite new I think. The only disadvantage is that it's a bit noisy at times. It is surrounded by narrow streets and passageways and you can clearly hear the people in the street talking to eachother, not to mention when a motorcycle comes through.
I stayed only one night at the Hesperia, but really enjoyed it. After checking out in the morning I could leave my car in the parking garage until the afternoon, so that I could visit the Alhambra without having to worry about my car; very convenient and a good service from the hotel!
Highly recommended.

Stayed for 4 nights and despite arriving mid morning we were immediately allocated a room. As previous reviewers have said noise is a problem... there was no chance of a siesta in the afternoon due to the noisy maids. We were also disappointed that breakfast wasn't included as we believed it was. The comfort and location was second to none - the shuttle bus from the Airport (3 Euros!!) dropped you off at the Grand Via Colon which was a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel was located behind the Town Hall with an excellent value tapas bar more or less next door. Best restaurants were in the vicinity of the Hotel Melia and Peurto Real forgot about the restaurants in the Bib Rambla Square behind the Cathedral, they cater for tourists and the food is poor. In the other direction the Plaza Nueva is only a few minutes away with good restaurants in the back streets, this is also the place to catch the minibus to the Alahambra or the little sightseeing minibus for the Albaysin. If you can avoid it don't drive in Granada as all the main thoroughfares into the city are undergoing development and the whole city is gridlocked with traffic. Overall a brilliant break... highly recommended.

We stayed with frinds at the Hesperia for two nights in late September 2006 prior to taking the train (a great experience) to Seville where we stayed at the Cervantes.

After a 27 euro taxi ride from Granada airport, we arrived at the hotel early, but we were encouraged to check in and our luggage was stored for us whilst we had lunch at a nearby bar.

At all times we found the hotel staff to be absolutely charming and helpful - they really are a great asset to the hotel.

We took the optional breakfast (cost 10 euros) and felt it to be good value.

Our room (and our friends') was a good size with an excellent bathroom (including bath with powerful shower). The TV carried Sky news and CNN.

Access to the Alhambra is easy, but we took a 5 euro taxi up the steep hill to that fantastic palace. Plenty of places to eat near to the Hesperia and within 10 minutes walk, and we always felt safe in Granada.

There is only one downside to the Hesperia (as referenced elsewhere) in that the soundproofing between rooms is poor. but we'd probably go back there, perhaps with earplugs.

This hotel is in a great location tucked away behind the town hall. Close to shops, restaurants and the bus to the Alhambra. Recently refurbished the lobby area is very pretty with a stained glass dome in the roof and a pleasant water feature. The rooms are also nice. The only drawback of this hotel is there is absolutely no sound proofing either from the corridor or the neighbouring rooms. We could hear the couplenext door coughing , flushing the toliet, using the hairdryer - you name it you can hear it. We were woken up a few times in the night with people talking in the corridor and closing of doors. It is a reall problem that should have been addressed when they refurbished. However if you stayed there when there were not many people staying I suppose this would be less of a problem. Yes finding the hotel by car is a little tricky but if you use the directions form the hotel website and a map from via michelin you shouldn't have too many problems. Follow the signs for Parking in Calle Angel Ganviet and it's easy to find from there as long as you have a map and directions.
Overall the location beats the problems of the sound proofing so I would reccomend it but be warned!

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel, and loved it! Compared to 3 other hotels we stayed in in other areas of Spain, this was absolutely by far the best (and not even the most expensive!). The hotel is tucked out of the way, but we found it fairly easily after being dropped off by an airport shuttle. The lobby was beautiful and the reception that we met all spoke English. When we entered the room we were concerned that we had the wrong room because it was SO much bigger than any we'd seen in Spain. There was a sitting area and a large room, and large bathroom. It seemed very safe, and the air conditioning worked well. There's even a "pillow menu" that you can choose what type of pillow you like. They have a computer in the lobby that you can access the internet but it is expensive compared to other internet places. We had booked our Alhambra tickets ahead of time on the internet, which I recommend. We walked to Albacin to look around, and could've walked to the Alhambra (though it is a trek uphill- as it is from most hotels), but we were nearby an inexpensive quick shuttle/van that we took without problem. We had no complaints about the hotel and wished that we would have stayed there longer!
