We stayed at different hotels during our visit to Spain and the Migueletes was simply the best. We had searched online for hotels in Granada and knew that since we were going to be there for just 2 nights we would be doing a lot of walking around and so looked for a hotel close to the city centre. It is in the Plaza Nuevo and right opposite the Tourist Information office, very convenient and the Plaza is a wonderful place to relax and watch the world go by as well as to grab a bite to eat. It is very close to the Alhambra and the buses to and from it stop in the Plaza. There is also a Museum right next door, Casa de los Pisa, the palace where St. John of God died in 1550. We even managed to see a Flamenco show at the old Casa Del Carbon (Coal House) which is a short walk down the road, it was very special. It was absolutely fantastic to come back to the hotel after all the sight seeing and walking around and have the chance to unwind in the courtyard which is very homely and peaceful. We had breakfast included in our room price which was quite reasonable and the choice served was good, could have done with some hot options, like pancakes or eggs, etc. But overall the hotel matched every expectation we had from our search online. It was very well located, quiet and peaceful, superbly furnished and very cozy. The staff were efficient and courteous. I only wish we could have gotten the room with a view of the Alhambra but since we did visit it both in the day and night, we weren't terribly disappointed. We loved our stay so much, we will go back again and will include more time to relax and enjoy the hotel and have recommended it to our friends. They made it a memorable holiday!

  • Liked — The peace & quiet, cleanliness and furnishings.
  • Disliked — The view from our room, overlooked a building which was being renovated.

I chose this hotel in Granada after reading the other reviews on Tripadvisor and was very happy with my choice.

The hotel is just off of the Plaza Nueva in the centre of Granada at the bottom of the hill that the Alhambra is on. You need to walk to the hotel from the main square as the hotel was built in streets that were built way before cars were thought of, but the hotel is only about 200 metres from the road. Our taxi cost 8 € from the bus station and our taxi driver dropped us off as near as he could.

The hotel is very secure and has security cameras outside and you have to ring the buzzer for the hotel staff to let you in.

The hotel is located in a typical spanish house with a central patio and was completely renovated as you can see by pictures in a photo album in the public lounge area.

We stayed in room 6 which looked onto the central patio, it was quite a large room with an equally large bathroom. The air con was excellent and it needed to be as it was very hot when we stayed there.

Breakfast was served in an underground room and there was a good selection of cold meats, breads, pastries fruits and cereals.

My husband and I also had friends staying at the hotel who were in room 20 which is on the top floor of the hotel and has the alhambra views which in all honesty our friends said was not really worth the extra money they paid. These rooms were very hot as they are quite open to the elements and had the sun on them all day.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel - the staff were all friendly and the location was very good for the alhambra and for bars and cafés for the evening.

One tip- go into most bars in Granada and only order a drink, you will nearly always get free tapas to have with your drink, then move on and do the same in the next bar. We did this the two evenings we were there and then later stopped at a bar or restaurant and we ordered a few more dishes to complete our meal.

Great location and tucked away in a charming little corner. The hotel is a refurbished casa and has all the amenities. We stayed in a room with an Alhambra view and had a great deck but it was a little too hot to use it. The only downside was that the room smelled a little funky...like ant spray...but we never had any indication of ants or other critters. We'd stay there again and likely look to stay at their other hotels as well. There are a great tapas bars along the street towards the cathedral. Can't remember their names but one is very lively and appears to do well with locals and tourists. The other is across the street and more subdued but a completely different experience. You get one free tapa with every beer order and they have these cool machines they bring to the table to pump/ pour cider (sidre) from a distance, as it is suppose to help the flavor.

As we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and are both 50 years old (in one weekend), we chose this hotel from the web site, as being the place to stay and were not disappointed at all.
The hotel staff were fantastic from the word go- Elena was superb on the phone and organised everything before we bot there- the Alhambra, the Arabic baths, the olive tour- a great way to see the surrounding area. Great views of the Alhambra, comfortable beds, unlikr the other 50 year old in an earlier review our eyes had no problems with the lighting! Breakfast had a great choice. My husband loved the Bodega!!!
The hotel,s recommendations for restuaurants were great-we used three and had three very different meals but all extrememly yummy!
All in all- a brilliant place to stay and we arte already planning to return- thank you to all at the hotel for making our stay such a wonderful time- the Cava was much appreciated too!

Great hotel. Inexpensive, centrally located, clean, and with great style. The staff there were all very helpful and made for a great stay as well. We extended our original stay and have one bit of advice for you (and the hotel). Don't splurge for the junior suite during summer (room 19). The air conditioner is poorly located (on the floor in a corner) and does not cool the room. Instead, save the money stay in one of the smaller rooms. We stayed in 6 and a friend stayed in 7. Both are very comfortable, well appointed, and can handle the summer heat.
