We stayed here two nights and were quite happy with the hotel. It is hard to find off a small alley, but we took a cab from the trai station, so he knew where to go. We did have to walk the last bit with our luggage, but it wasn't bad. The check in was quick and the staff spoke excellent English. The room was charming with its beamed ceiling and was good sized and very clean. We did have to carry the luggage up a flight of stairs, but that wasn't a problem for us. Both the room and the bathroom were rather dark, but dim lighting is a problem in most hotels. The free internet access in a lovely area of the courtyard was most appreciated. Breakfast was good and it was nice that it was offered for most of the morning. When we checked in they noticed my birthday was the next day and gave me a half bottle of sparkling wine at breakfast that we enjoyed later that day. The only reason l gave them 4 stars rather than 5 was perhaps only the fault of one staff person, but still left us with a negative feeling. We had an early flight the day we were leaving and asked at the desk about the best way to get to the airport. They said they would call and reserve a cab right then, but l asked about the airport bus l had read about in our guidebook. The bus was supposedly 3E each and they told me the cab would be 30E. I was then told that the bus took an hour to get to the airport and although they left the same time as our cab would, that wouldn't work because of the time it took. So we said we would like them to reserve the cab. The day we left the staff person on duty then wrapped up a couple rolls since it was too early for breakfast (which was very kind). The cab had no meter and no sign on the top, so we were concerned. (We had had other problems with cabs overcharging in Spain so we were on alert.) My daughter speaks Spanish and asked how much it would be and we were told 28E, which was better than quoted the day before, and we had no choice at this point anyway. We went to the airport and about 5 minutes after we got there the airport bus arrived. I felt like they called a friend with a private cab and we paid over 20E more than we had to to get to the airport. Not a huge deal, but it left us with a negative feeling after what had been a very nice stay.

Spent our anniversary here and loved it. The staff was very helpful (reserved Alhambra tickets for us, reserved a table at an excellent restaurant also). Breakfast in the a.m. was well done -fruit, eggs, pastries all were wonderful. And finally the rooms were superb, quiet, and very large for what we experienced in Spain. You spend a little more to stay here but the price is well worth it.

Charming old building in the tourist heart of Granada. Excellent location for seeing the sites. Internet access provided. OK breakfast. Good staff. Clean. Quiet.

The location of Casa Migueletes, off an alleyway leading to the Plaza Nueva, is great. However, be advised you will have to drag/carry your luggage up a few short streets to get to the hotel (we had to watch out for pigeon droppings and a partial mouse carcass but generally the alleyways are clean), and once you get there, probably you will have to carry it up a couple of flights of stairs, depending on your room. I found the "executive level" room not worthy of the name or the added price: it was not any bigger than an average room, had no desk or luggage racks, although it did have a small, worn sofa; the mattress was old and too squishy. The room was dark and the bedside lamps not very bright. My daughter felt that this was a plus in hot, sunny, Granada, but my 50+-year-old eyes did not appreciate it so much. It was rated "executive" supposedly because it gave onto the central courtyard. This gave a little light but with the shutters open there was no privacy as there were rooms directly across. Also, the courtyard was roofed with plexiglas so that fresh air did not circulate (the rooms have air conditioning).

That said, the staff of the hotel were very helpful and courteous. They arranged for our guide, for our baths (worth the experience), and even for breakfast to be served early for us on the weekend so that we got to our Alhambra appointment on time. The breakfast served is ample -- fruits, pastries, breads, cold cuts, cheese, cereals, and local touches of olives and tomatoes and fish spread. Also, the computer available for guests' use (free) was much appreciated, and don't miss the selection of guidebooks and information in the lounge.

  • Liked — Locationa nd helpful staff
  • Disliked — Too may stairs, room dark and not very big or well-furnished for its grade of "executive"

This was a very cute hotel in a great neighborhood. Cute little room. Received a welcome glass of wine. Very nice and helpful staff who suggested a great restaurant for dinner. Really large pomegranate keychain.
