We stayed in this Granada location on our winter vacation (February). Service was excellent and always available. Breakfast buffet was first rate and wide ranging. Our room and bath were spacious and met our needs, while the overall price was reasonable. This location and its history/architecture add to the sense of being in old Granada. Near the Alhambra, plaza, and in the old quarter, everything was easy from this location.

Hotel Migueletes is a beautiful hotel, located on a quiet street just off Plaza Nuevo. We took the airport bus for €3.00 (Feb ‘07 prices) to Gran Via, which stops opposite the Cathedral, and walked 2 minutes to Plaza Nuevo. At the top end of the Plaza, you’ll see another church - turn left and follow the signs to the hotel - it’s a 1 minute walk from there.

Its location is on a quiet street so you won’t hear the late night revellers when you go to bed – though you should probably be out there enjoying the Andalusia night life anyway.

The lobby has stone floors and a retractable roof so you’re inside, but you feel like you’re outside. The hotel has a genuine Moroccan Riad feel to it, from the tiny winding streets leading up to the door, to the sympathetic choice of furniture and finishes. It continues into each of the rooms – I cheekily dipped into a couple as they were cleaning them!

They have one computer and offer free internet access 24 hours a day – it worked and we used it to plan excursions. They have a free tiny bodega where you can try their selection of wines (open between 20:00 and 21:00 daily). Continental buffet breakfast was included in our price and there’s a good choice of cold meats, eggs, vegetables, fruit, yogurts, breads, teas, coffees and a few other essentials. The staff were all very friendly and bi-lingual (English/Spanish).

The rooms have hardwood floors throughout and it was possible to hear people walking around in the room above ours. On one particular night, when I couldn’t sleep, I could hear their toilet being flushed. It wasn’t the reason I couldn’t sleep, but if you need absolute silence in order to get you beauty sleep, it could be an issue for you. On all other nights, I fell asleep without any problems. Our bed had 2 mattresses pushed together which I personally don’t like. If you want a room with a view, do not stay in room 10.

Our room was clean and airy with simple decoration. We had an air conditioner which doubled as a heater. I tested both and they worked perfectly well. The shower in our bathroom was powerful and the hot water was consistent.

I recommend the hotel and hope to stay there again sometime in the future.

Casa de los Migueletes is Seventeenth Century House in the historic Albaycin district , a few steps fron Plaza St Anna and the Alhambra Bus stop. The main shops in Granada are within an easy walk.
The hotel is tucked away on Plaza Benuala and the front door is only accessible on foot.
The house was sensitively restored and adapted by its Swedish proprietors from a near-derelict state (see the photo album in the lounge) and it now has 23 en-suite centrally heated bedrooms, most of which open off the central courtyard, which is a charming space, with an unobtrusive lift and a sliding roof canopy as the only modern additions.
We had a standard double room (the Alhambra can just be seen from the window)but we understand that two suites are available.
A substantial buffet breakfast is seved from 7.30 to 10.30 in the basement breakfast room and there is a small bodega. No other meals are served but a reliable restaurant list is provided.
The staff were competent and helpful and friendly and spoke good English.
We did not have a car in Granada and the hotel has no garage. We were told that the taxi fare from a nearby public garage will be refunded on arrival.

Very charming, boutique type hotel with only 25 rooms but IMO was a bit pricey. Had a tower (torreon) room with a breathtaking view of La Alhambra, specially at nighttime. The staff was very polite & accomodating with marvelous dining recommendations. It is well situated near Plaza Nueva, many restaurants & tapas bars nearby, walking distance to La Alhambra (we walked downhill, took a taxi uphill) & to the main shopping street of Los Reyes Catolicos. The buffett breakfast served in a "cave like" room was quite nice. Around 8:00 PM there was a free happy hour, but it only served "sherry wine", or manzanilla. At a table in the interior courtyard there was always free "Anisette" & cookies. Also there was free internet. Definitely will recommend the hotel.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Room Mate Migueletes from 17 to 21 January. The hotel is perfectly located a few meters aways from Plaza Nueva. The Room Mate Migueletes is an excellent solution: recovering an old building the hotel now has very cosy and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is excellent (real orange juice from real oranges is a treat) and the staff are very friendly. All rooms have ADSL connection (so you can keep working while away on holiday...) and the staff of the hotel is friendly and efficient. i needed an adapter from Italian to Spanish plugs and here it was, they had it ready.
Staying at the Room Mate Migueletes was like staying in an old andalucian palace.
Plenty of choice of restaurants and bars in the nearby area ( We had dinner a few times at Bodega Castaneda, a nice and friendly bar with good food) but the hotel has got many suggestions.
Whilst in Granada don't miss to explore the Albaicin (good food near Mirador San Nicola at Bar Kiki). Just a few meters of the hotel, you can catch the micro bus to Alhambra (1 euro) (otherwise you can also walk, but it's quite uphill).
Don't miss also the Convent of St. Jeronimo, the Capilla Real and the Cartuja.
