We stayed at this hotel for 3 days, after finding it on Tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed!
The hotel is full of character, charmingly furnished, with good sized rooms, and spotlessly clean.
The staff were helpful, polite and cheerful all the time. Our room had a wonderful view of the Alhambra Palace.
The only down to the hotel, was it's difficulty to find, although our taxi driver took us as close as possible, but having said that, a back street in the old town made it very peaceful indeed! Only the clock chiming at night to wake you!
Thoroughly reccommend this lovely hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in October 2005 during a touring holiday of Andalucia. We first saw the hotel in the book “Special Places to Stay – Spain” by Alistair Sawday and then were encouraged by the reviews on this site. We were not disappointed (by this or the other hotels we selected from this book).

The hotel is located up a narrow cobbled alley just off Plaza Nueva. This is ideal in that mini-buses to the Alhambra leave from the square every few minutes and you are also only a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral and other places of interest.

As already mentioned in previous reviews, there is no vehicle access to the hotel but this did not prove a problem as the taxi from the car park dropped us right by the alley, a very short walk to the hotel which would not prove a problem unless you had an excessive amount of luggage to carry.

Having read the hotel’s instructions for parking and getting to the hotel we were a little apprehensive, but we had no difficulty at all. One tip – as well as printing the instructions from the hotel’s website in English, print them in Spanish (Viajando con coche). We did this and at the car park simply handed them to the taxi driver. However, talking with other guests in the hotel one couple without the instructions had spent two hours trying to find the hotel in their hire car! The taxi fare (less than 5 Euros) was deducted from our hotel bill and the discounted parking charge could be paid as part of the hotel bill.

The hotel is a 17th century mansion which has been sympathetically restored. Most rooms lead off the internal courtyard, a lovely cooling spot to sit on a hot day with the relaxing sounds of the fountain. Unfortunately, whilst we were there we had torrential rain and thunder storms and there were awnings drawn across this area most of the time. There is a lovely library area – do find time to look at the photograph album of the restoration of the hotel.

Also off the courtyard is the Bodega where you have the opportunity in the early evening to gather with other guests to sample complimentary local Sherries.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant but continental breakfast is served in a vaulted basement room (9.50 Euros). I am sure you could buy breakfast nearby for a lot less but we felt it was worth it, a lovely setting and a good range of items with everything beautifully presented.

The hotel staff could not have been more helpful - checking we had booked tickets for the Alhambra and making dinner reservations for us. They have a useful leaflet listing recommended local restaurants and tapas bars. We ate at one of them, Pilar Del Toro, which is just across the square and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We stayed in Room 16 (129 Euros + tax). Although this room was full of character, it was very small and rather dark. On arrival we were given a choice of this double room or a twin room which they did say was larger. We opted for the double room but in retrospect we may have been more comfortable in the twin, particularly if we had been staying longer. One fascinating feature was the room key fob (see photograph) – the largest we have ever seen, you certainly were not tempted to leave the hotel with this!

This hotel provides the perfect setting from which to immerse yourself in the history and character of Granada.

Very nice, beautifully restored hotel. Very expensive relative to other, nice, Spanish accomodations.

We stayed in 9 different hotels while travelling in Andalucia off season in December--Every hotel was nice in its own way, some were very nice, virtually all were chosen for their outstanding views, and all (except this one) had prices that varied from a low of 52 EU/night to a high of around 100 EU/night. This was low season, mind you.

We had enjoyed beautiful views and lovely accomodations for reasonable prices in 4 different cities before arriving in Granada, so our expectations were rather high at Casa de los Migueletes, given the 199 EU/night price tag of our room. We had booked an Alhambra view room for 3 nights. We knew that our room would be small (the website even warned--accurately--that some of the Alhambra view rooms are small). The room was so small we could not open the closet door all the way because it hit the bed. The view of the Alcazaba portion of the Alhambra was nice, but you had to stand in the doorway to the terrace and look up the hill to see it. You couldn't really see the view from the bed. We had to switch rooms, though, not because of the size but because the room or roof (not quite clear which) had been recently painted with an acrid smelling substance, and the odor bothered me tremendously.

The second room was much bigger and didn't have the paint smell, but instead, wood smoke from neighboring buildings (?) permeated the room during the night. We ended up leaving after only one night because we just couldn't justify paying that amount of money for accomodations that were not satisfactory. I'm odor sensitive, and I can put up with disagreeable odors to a point, but not when I'm paying 199 EU/night.

We moved to another nearby hotel that wasn't nearly as nice but was clean, odor-free, and met our needs. It also cost approximately 1/4 what Casa de los Migueletes did. We went and had dinner at one of the Albacin restaurants that had a FABULOUS direct view of the entire Alhambra, and between dinner and hotel room, we still didn't come close to paying as much as one night at Casa de los Migueletes.

I imagine the odors are probably not an ongoing problem, especially in warmer months when people don't burn wood, so the real issue comes down to cost. If money is not an issue for you, then this is a lovely place. But, given what I saw in the rest of Andalucia, I don't understand the cost here and don't think it was worth the price.

We stumbled across this hotel while mooching around the backstreets looking for somewhere to stay in Granada. I recognised it from the Tripadvisor reviews, and as soon as we encountered the pleasant welcome of reception, we knew we were on to a good thing. We were offered a room with a little annexe for our baby to sleep in, which was great. The room was charming, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. There was a relaxed sherry tasting every evening, which was very pleasant, and the staff arranged babysitting so we could go out and sample the local cuisine (all arranged and booked by reception). The breakfast buffet, though lacking somewhat in imagination, actually suited us as we were rushing off each morning. At least they offer you the option of not paying for breakfast and eating elsewhere if you wish.

A beautiful little gem of a hotel - Friendly, full of character and a 5 star service. I would definitely return.
