What a great little place, we arrived in Granada on 5th Jan to find it was the Festival of the 3 Kings. The taxi from the airport had to drop of us outside the arch as all the roads were closed because of the procession taking place, so we had quite a walk with our luggage to the Plaza Nueva. I have to admit I was sceptical but when we got there the place and the staff were lovely. When we checked in the girl on reception spotted it was my husband's birthday 2 days later. On the morning of his birthday they came in almost as soon as we sat down to breakfast, wished him Happy Birthday and offered us Spanish Champagne to celebrate. Both girls on reception were extremely knowlegdeable and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean and nicely decorated with Molton Brown toiletries. My one complaint about our room was the noise. We were in room 3 which is right above the front door and whenever anyone went in or out we could hear the buzzer and the slamming of the door and also could hear loud voices coming from reception. If you are an early riser if wouldn't be such a problem but if you want to sleep past 8.00am forget it. Breakfast was adequate. The hotel couldn't be in a better location, there are lots of bars and restuarants just 2 minutes walk away and the shops are about 5 minutes. There are buses to the Alhambra from the Plaza Nueva and you can see it from there are well. The tourist info office is also on the Plaza. I would definately go back.

I had high expectations of this hotel, based partly on the reviews I had read both on this website and others, and on the unusually helpful emails I had received from the staff dealing with some queries before we arrived. I was not disappointed. The location is perfect - the people who complained about car access ought to be ashamed ! This is a medieval part of the city, do they want several streets knocked down to facilitate their gas-guzzling vehicles !!?? Our room was wonderful and in fact we were upgraded because the management were concerned that the room we had originally booked might be affected by building noise from elsewhere in the street) - we were lucky here because it was a quiet week with not too many other guests staying. Breakfast was not elaborate but was fine. The staff were impeccably helpful. And the shower was one of the best I've ever used ! Granada, it hardly needs to be said, is stunning, and yet another excellent point about the hotel is that they give you a list of recommended eating places. Ordinarily I am very sceptical about that kind of list, but every one we tried was first-rate (especially the nearby restaurant Azafran). This is an absolutely superb hotel.

We were scheduled to stay two nights and extended our stay one additional night because the hotel made us feel so welcome. The hotel is charming, tucked away from the main street. I was concerned that being in an alley would be a little scary but not so. It is just steps away from the action without being a part of the action. The staff is excellent. Ana the Reception Manager was particularly helpful scheduling massages, hair appointments, organizing the taxis etc. The only negative is that we had two rooms and you could hear voices in the other room. It is a bit on the expensive side but I can't think of a better place to stay in Granada

We stayed for 4 nights in October with our children. The room was more than adequate for the four of us and had a lovely big bathroom. We didn't find the location a problem as it was central to the old part of the city and we arrived by taxi from the airport. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was spotless, the courtyard and lounge were very cosy. Our only critisim was that they were building right outside our window and could have easily passed the builder a cup of coffee! Would stay here again.

This is a great small hotel, where we found the staff more than accomodating and helpful. Yes, finding the hotel is very difficult and can be very frustrating. Be prepared to haul your luggage up a small alley because taxis and cars can't go up there. But once there, it is a very comfortable retreat, in a great location. The beds, linens and toiletries are top notch. Having stayed at the Alhambra Palace on a previous trip, this was much, much better, in a city that is not known for good accomodations except for the parador. The staff was so helpful, that when I asked where I could find a doorknocker to purchase, rather than just giving me directions to various stores, the staff came up with three different door knockers that I could choose from. One I loved, and bought it without feeling obligated. Now that's helpful! Be sure to try the restaurant, Pilar del Tora, which was on their recomendation list. The food and atmosphere were amazing and it was a very short walk from the hotel. We loved the hotel, and would highly recommend it.
