We just came from Granada, Spain and we stayed at this Charming Hotel for 2 nights. This is a very lovely old style Spanish hotel. We loved it!!! We would like to stay at this hotel again... The location is very private, on a little coble stone street. This place has the perfect location for all the tours and also for shopping. The stuff is very friendly. They gave us great recommendations for lunch and dinner. They even arranged for us a great dinner at a beautiful restaurant overlooking at the Alhambra. Our room had the lovely view of the courtyard. We had a great time in this hotel, we will definitely recommend it to everybody.

We stayed at this hotel for an extended weekend in the winter and the hotel was very cold. There are only fan type heaters in the rooms we saw. This did warm the air but is uncomforable to those with sinus problems and leaves the rest of the room/hotel very cold. The bed was freezing and we bought a hot water bottle for the next night.

The staff were nice but there was a mixup in our booking and they were not able to put this right. There is also a building project being carried out next door to the hotel and we would have liked to have been warned about this as it was disruptive.

I do hope that this hotel suceeds and I am sure it is very nice in the warmer months.

The Casa de los Migueltes is more comfortable than the larger touristy hotels, and still maintains a wonderful local feel not unlike what you would find at a B&B. We stayed at the hotel in Feb 2005 and enjoyed it very much. Front desk reception service was excellent, room included breakfast of cold dishes that was above average. Most importantly - the hotel facilities are very elegant, while maintaining a local flavor absent from larger tourist hotels. We booked a standard room and stayed in room 12, which was very spacious with double windows that opened onto a beautiful interior courtyard. The all important beds were a dream, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also well appointed and one of the largest bathrooms I've seen in a standard room in Western Europe. Many English cable TV channels are available, and the hotel has a bodega where they serve evening drinks. There is also a common room on the ground floor which opens onto the interior courtyard that has Internet access and several couches for guests to lounge around. Noise at night was minimal since the hotel is set back from the Plaza Nueva by one block in an area that is basically restricted to pedestrians. Location wise, the hotel is not more than a stones throw from the Alhambra - it's a 2 minute walk to the shuttle stop where something similar to a airport shuttle bus takes you up to the Alhambra for $0.95 Euros per person (5 minute ride). If you're hungry, it's also a 2 minute walk to the popular Plaza Nueva, and less than 10 minutes to most good restaurants in the area. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to friends and family.

We stayed here this Christmas for 2 nights at the recommendation of Casa Morsica, which was full. This hotel has the nicest and most helpful staff of anywhere I have ever stayed. They got us reservations for the Alhambra, including an evening trip on Christmas Eve and booked us at an excellent restaurant on Christmas Eve, La Botanico, just about the only place open. Even before we stayed we had 7 or 8 lengthy emails discussing all the issues involved in a Christmas stay and what would be open or not. The location is ideal, as it is in a very quiet part of town and some rooms overlook the Alhambra. Everything is within easy walking distance and you are in the heart of the historic district without cars. A 2 minute walk away brings you to the square where bus service runs constantly to the Alhambra and other locations. Granada is not that large so everything else is an easy walk- the Alhambra is a hike! You are also in the Arab area which is full of great restaurants and some streets feel like Marakesh. Our room was huge but cozy, with an amazing bathroom. It is also a converted colonial home and the renovation was done by the architect of Casa Morsica. We only had breakfast there once, which did not seem worth the expense, especially as there are excellent cafes nearby. The parking is actually easy and we walked our wheeled suitcases to the underground lot on the return as it is only a couple of blocks away (downhill.) However, we never found the Burger King, which is suppossed to be a landmark and we missed our initial turn as a result- it is actually easier to get to the lot than the directions describe. Our only regret is that we didn't stay in
Granda and at this hotel longer but we will definitely return.

The hotel was an absolute gem. The room was delightful - clean and beautifully furnished and the bathroom was well above average. The reception staff were the the most helpful and friendly we have ever met in Spain, and when we arrived they offered to ring the Alhambra for us to check when we would need to pick up our reserved tickets.
Place is quite difficult to find, tucked away in a little alley in the Arab quarter, but it is very quiet and only a short walk (uphill!) to the Alhambra. Breakfast buffet is very good but not included in the room rate. Only little niggles were that our bed was rather small, and in spite of the directions to the underground carpark we downloaded, it was not easy to find as the Burger King hardly jumps out at you. By the way, if you have smallish wheelie cases it is not far to the hotel and a pleasant walk. You can buy a parking voucher from the hotel which makes it cheaper.
