This is a renovation of an very old building with all modern conveniences. The staff is absolutely terrific: helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They always went out of their way to accommodate our every need and request. The location could not be better and the cost was very reasonable. A very hearty breakfast with lots of choices is also included and available within the building. We highly recommend this place, a 5-10 minute walk from all the major sites except the Cartuja and the Alhambra but a very short cab or bus ride to those. The hotel is also extremely quiet. One thing that is a special bonus is that prior to our arrival they email a welcome greeting along with details on how to get to the hotel depending on the mode by which you arrive in the city. Unfortunately, though they tell you where the airport bus leaves you off in terms of distance (250 meters from the hotel) they do not tell you the walking directions from that point or the name of the stop where you should get off the bus. (The airport bus makes several stops coming into the heart of the city.) This matters because the hotel is tucked away on a quiet back street and even locals do not know the street well. This is a minor quibble to be sure but guests should be prepared and can email the hotel for those final 250 meters of direction We would stay here again without hesitation.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 08 based on previous reviews and I was not disappointed. I am using the free internet on our last night to write this. The review that comments on being very noisy does not reflect the hotel I am sitting in at 00.40 hrs - you could hear a pin drop!

The hotel is difficult to find, but ideal for exploring the city. We followed the instructions on the web, by parking at Plaza Real and getting a cab, we got a receipt and the hotel paid the cab fare, but don´t try and drive around too much as there are lots of one way streets which are very narrow. As other reviews indicate, do not be put off by the location / enterance - this hotel is great and the narrow streets add to your holiday expereince.

We had room #26, which has fantastic views of the Alhambra and it was exceptionally quiet so we slept well every night. The hotel is clean, with good showers and the breakfast as good - especially as it does not finish until 12 noon - so you can have a long lie.

Top marks for Room Mates - poor name but great place to stay.

This hotel is extremly noisy (we could not sleep any of the nights) and many rooms are bad located (as they are in the corridor to many other rooms and therefore are very noisy), We told reception to book taxis for us the night before leaving and in the check out we were informed that they had not booked anything and that it was not possible to book and we almost lost our flights!
Breakfast very average (bad orange juice) and rooms conditions very average too..
There are many other hotels in Granada more charming and at a better rate!
Wont go again to this hotel

stayed for 2 nights, chose it on the basis of what we read here. Great views from top floor roons, ours only had a view on interior patio though and right next to the lift so really noisy.
Theres no parking and taxis dont know it so make sure you print out a map before you leave home!
fantastic breakfast and evening sherry and nibbles in the bodega.
The staff are really friendly and give great restaurant reccommendations, away from the typical tourist traps.
Only drawback was the cost, I wouldnt say the level of furnishing and comfort in the room was in line with the price. It was all quite standard and not a luxurious as I had expected. We also requested a double room and got 2 single beds, not very condusive for our "romantic break!"
All in all can't beat the location but room could have been better.

Excellent location just off Plaza Nueva. Staff very friendly. We stayed for 2 nights then returned for a final night later in the week. Both rooms excellent. First room was #26 which is at the very top of the hotel with wonderful views of the Alhambra 0 definitely worth the 20 euro supplement. Second room was a standard room on the 2nd floor (#22) ans was of ample size and comfort. Only the view was lacking. Breakfast was simple, possibly a little boring after a couple of days. English French and German daily newspapers provided, and the guest access to an internet PC was very useful for checking email and writing this review! Couldn´t think of a better base in Granada.
