We stayed (2 + child) in this hotel during 2 nights in the Executive Room No. 12 in the second floor. I've stayed in more fancy and spangly hotels but this one just touched my heart. Besides of its wonderful location (just a step from Plaza Nueva), its wonderful atmosphere and its lovely, elegant, both, old and modern Spanish design & furnishing, the stay there was a pleasure, specially because of the staff !!! the service was superb, and the whole concept simply says "we are thinking on how make your stay a pleasure"… and it really was.

The hotel is located in a small and quite alley in the Albaycin. The hotel has a new elevator, the room was spacious (an apple waited for us on our side tables), the lovely room was full of natural light, and it was very quite. They will recommend you some good restaurants (we visited Azafran, loved it! surprising food, and Carmen de Aben Humeya, hard to find, but lovely view to Alhambra that great service), the lounge was lovely and the free internet was a bless.

The hotel is located just in the north side of Plaza nueva (don't ask for plaza Santa Ana, nobody seems to be sure where it is, as this is just the new name of the north part of Plaza Nueva), just walk on Carrera del Darro st. and turn to the left in the second alley (callejon), named: CUESTA ACEITUNEROS. (If you had walked for more that a minute, you missed the turn, it's really close). Go on for a few seconds and you are there :-)

I won't recommend you to stay in room No.1, because it is located in the 1 floor, just near the reception and the main entrance door. Someone mentioned that room No.3 has a similar problem, but I can't tell, because I didn't find this room…

The breakfast was very nice, I loved it more than my husband (I think he missed fried eggs for breakfast) but I think it was enjoyable.

Well, if this the Migueletes Hotels concept, we'll definitely stay in their hotels in the future!

We stayed two nights in the Alhambra suite. The room was huge, quite beautiful, however a little dark and airless for our tastes. The hotel was really lovely and the staff amazingly helpful and friendly.

The location in the old town was quiet and really convenient. Breakfast was average and the breakfast room was quite smal and no windows - ie we ate quickly !!

  • Liked — Location and the staff
  • Disliked — A strange smell in the room and the lack of air and light

I am sitting here in our room using their internet cable with my laptop to write about the enjoyable stay we are having here. The room is not large, I assume its a standard room but it is spotless and the little extras like a very powerful electric heater in the bathroom are most welcome. Yes, its a bit hard to find, but most everyone in Plaza Nueva knew of it and there is a sign pointing up the street you use to get there. Its worth the hide and seek.

The breakfast is first rate and plentiful. The serrano ham and other meats, the cheese and the spanish fritatta are wonderful. There are great restaurants, particularly noteworthy is the Azafran, five minutes walking and amazing food. Very inventive, interesting combinations of flavors and reasonably priced.

All in all, we are totally enjoying our stay here at Room Mate Migueletes. It is well deserving of its high tripadvisor rating.

We enjoyed a very comfortable 3 nights at the Hotel Migueletes in Granada. It was not easy to find however and a more detailed map with street / lane names would be appreciated.
It was very well situated for all sites of interest, particularly the Alhambra, and a wide range of eating establishments were nearby.
The breakfast buffet was extremely good and a range of foods was on offer. We particularly enjoyed the meat, cheese and fruit selection.
Our room was comfortable and the bathroom clean and well appointed. I would however have liked to make a hot drink in my room. There were no facilities to do this.
We booked an executive room which was not large but did boast a view of the Alhambra which was lovely.
Reception staff were always friendly and helpful.

Overall, a very good hotel which I would recommend if visiting Granada. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Do not be put off by the name "Room Mate". This is an ancient merchant's house in traditional Spanish style, with an inner courtyard/patio and, in my case, the best suite I have ever stayed in.

First impressions as you try and find the place are puzzlement; even the taxi cannot take you there (the alleys are too narrow) - so you get dropped off at Plaza Nueva then wander with your luggage around little back alleys, looking for what you expect to be a grand entrance. Instead you find some small signs, an unpromising entry way up steps and then -- the courtyard opens up. It is not a huge courtyard and appears a little austere; but that is where you can sit and drink your complimentary sherry and eat your olives in the evening (as well as in the little internal bodega). The sound of running water from the fountain trough at one side reminds you that you are in Granada, strongly formed by the Moors in Spain...

I debated whether to go for an ordinary room or treat myself to a little luxury. I decided on the Alhambra Suite. This was absolutely unbelievable; vast, luxurious and utterly beautiful for about $250 a night. They say this is the finest suite of rooms in Granada, and I can believe it; ante-room/sitting room, huge bedroom/sitting room, separate clothes/dressing room, huge bathroom with jacuzzi, separate shower and loo. All are fitted out in exquisite Spanish taste, with the dark wood so typical of Spain offset by lighter, elegant, modern taste. From the windows, look up at night to the outlines of the illuminated Alhambra Palace...

Take a taxi to the Alhambra; but walk back down into town (straight line to Migueletes.)

Service was exemplary and very helpful (use them to make the booking for the Alhambra, where entrance is limited) and to find out about other events in Granada - even the best way of getting back to the motorway.

My personal rating is absolutely 5 star, and I shall be going back. I am almost afraid to tell the world this; I expect it will now be more difficult for me to book this again when I want it!!
