This Hotel is in a great position. To the NW of Plaza Nueva it's signposted and just inside the Albaicin. The Airport bus terminates at the Southern end of Gran Via de Colon so walk down a few metres to the Plaza Isabel la Catolica and turn left. We experienced a moment's confusion after getting of the bus. The management of the Hotel are outstandingly professional, helpful and friendly in many languages. Our room was comfortable, clean and simple. We enjoyed the Bodega, the Hotels wine cellar that was open for complimentary sherry and nibbles every evening. This enabled guests to chat informally and exchange tourist information or sit quietly in the peaceful court yard or lounge to plan that night's activities. We were reluctant to leave!

Thanks Trip Advisor for suggesting the Migueletes. The room was charming and pristine clean. The cold breakfast buffet was outstanding. The staff was helpful and friendly. We stayed only one night but wished we could have stayed longer. This was our final night in Spain at the end of a fantastic 10 day bicycle trip with Cycling Country, a small company run by a delightful young couple who really impressed us with their knowledge of the country as well as cycling, and with their care and concern for our safety as well as our enjoyment.

We were early on the arrival day, the room was not ready yet. We waited for 15 minutes in the nice lobby and courtyard, while the room was prepared, checking my mail on the courtesy computer. The cosy room was great, with a nice view on the surrounding buildings of the old arabique quarter, I slept like a baby. The staff is so nice and helpfull, no rather stupid question (in my perspective) is to much.
I 'll be back.

We booked the hotel just a few days before, and only the suite was available. But since it was my wife's birthday, we opted for the suite.
Since it's not possible to arrive to the hotel by car, the hotel instructed us to park in a nearby public parking garage. From there we took a cab to the hotel. The cost was refunded by the hotel.

Check-in was smooth, and we were given access to the suite. It consists on first one rooom with chairs and sofa. The main room includes a large sofa, a desk and an enormous bed. This room was laarge, and the high ceiling contributed to the feeling of space. In the end of the suite is two large doors. Open them, and a great view of the Alhambra is revealed. Behind the main room is a waste bathroom, including a jacuzzi.

Shortly after check-in a large bottle of sparkling wine, olives and some chips were brought to the suite since the staff had noted it was my wife's birthday. Nice!

We found the hotel to be just the place we had hoped for, and for sure would recommend it. The staff was very helpful, and also made reservations at Alhambra and the Arabic Bath.

The only minus was that the TV might be considered a bit small for a suite. But on the other hand a large tv perhaps would not have blended in very well with the very authentic style of the suite.

We recently completed a three week trip to Spain, staying in five different cities. By far, our favorite hotel was Room Mate Migueletes. Tucked just off a plaza at the base of the Alhambra, we found this property incredibly charming and romantic. It's a beauty. The inner courtyard was peaceful and serene. The living room, just off the courtyard, had complimentary internet and there was complimentary wine tasting in the evenings,
Having been completely gutted in 2002 and rebuilt from the insides out, the rooms are thoughtfully designed and tastefully furnished. They have great bathroom amenities that are hip and fun, while still being upscale. It may not have the number of stars of larger properties because it lacks 24 hour room service, or having a full service restaurant, gymnasium, etc....but the comfort and size of the rooms, the helpfulness and knowledge of the staff and the charm and quality of the property, make this a great find.
We have told several seasoned travelers we know about Room-Mate Migueletes. Given the quality of this property, we were sorry we had not booked their other properties in cities we stayed.
In Barcelona and Madrid we splurged for well known 5 star properties and paid a fortune in the process. Neither hotel was as completely satisfying as Room-Mate Migueletes.
An expanded continental breakfast was included in our stay, which we thought also added greatly to the value of this property.
The only disadvantage we thought of, conerned senior travelers. Because the property is tucked away behind a plaza, taxis cannot drop you right at the front door with luggage. If you cannot manage your own bags, you will need to have the driver help with the bags to the hotel or ask the hotel if they can provide luggage assistance. You won't have to walk more than 25 meters (75 feet or so), but if you had problems with luggage and cobblestones, that would be one small consideration.
We thought the location of the property was excellent. It is a short, safe five minute walk from the cathedral and surrounding shops and restaurants.
The hotel also provides an excellent list of recommended restaurants and is quick to make reservations for any you would like to visit. Their recommendations were great, and the restaurants treated us very well. Because of the location at the base of the Alhambra there are a number of restaurants with gorgeous views up the hill to the Alhambra, which is lit at night.
And yes, our room also had a view of the Alhambra. While you won't necessarily be gazing all the time out the window, it is worth asking in advance if they have a room with a view!
Enjoy this property. It's a gem.
