We spent two blissful nights in this historic building in the heart of La Alhambra. Yes, it's costly compared to other hotels but you really do get what you pay for - stunning location, serenity (away from the gaggles of tourists), and great service. The staff know what they're doing and they do it well. We stayed in room 303 (not above the kitchen/restaurant) with a lovely view across a small decorative pool, towards Siete Suelos. The food was, overall, good though that in the restaurant was better than the cafeteria (as you'd expect given the price differential). I'm gluten-free and the restaurant offers a (limited) gluten-free menu but the chef happily adapted a dish of the standard menu for me. Breakfast was fabulous - extensive and offering gluten-free bread and pastries - and not rushed at all; we had chance to do an early morning visit to the Palace before returning for breakfast! We had a car, garaged on site for the duration; we walked into Granada town (a friendly city) and caught the Alhambra bus back up the hill to the parador for a cheap 1euro 20cents. We had wanted to stay here for many years - cost had previously discouraged it - and we are so happy with the experience we had, we'd highly recommend it.
