There is no better location in Granada. The restaurant is professional and high quality.
The staff at the hotel is professional but cool and indifferent. Certainly a disappointment. The best example is on our second day asking the person at reception (there is no concierge) for restaurant suggestions in town. The response was that the Parador has the best restaurant in Granda. I explained that we enjoyed the Parador restuarant the night before and wanted to try something in town. The reception person repeated that the best restaurant is on the premises and shrugged. I later found that the paradors are state operated and the help is employed essentially for life and have no incentive to provide service.
My other disappointment was that the rooms are not converted from an historic facility but are modern hotel rooms built in an historic site. The usual charm of a parador was missing.
Although the location of the parador is imcomparable, I'd consider a hotel in the old part of Granada for a quality experience, a nice room and better service. The parador was overpriced for the value.
