“Pleasant and professionally operated”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

We spent two nights at this very charming hotel in the very core of old Granada. We were very impressed with the professionalism with which the staff handled our whole stay. The room was spacious (including a balcony-like structure for the extra bed for our child, which we had not expected) and the breakfast was great: very varied and abundant, including local specialties. We did have issues with the noise level during the first night due to a large, rowdy group of other guests, but were promptly moved to a very quiet wing for the second night. We were also helped in arranging tickets for the Alhambra (including accurate advice on when/where to start) and finding typical places to eat.

About parking: the hotel has a deal with a local parking in which you leave your car and get a cab ride paid by the hotel to their premises. While it sounded complicated to us, it actually worked beautifully and we were happy with the arrangement.

This hotel was just what we were looking for; a blend of comfort and Spanish charm. It's located in the older part of the city which made it easy to access all the major historical sites. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and hotel was very clean and well-maintained.

Great staff, the best check-in process in all of Spain. The breakfast was included in the room rate, had plenty of choices, even carry the Spanish ham (a first). The hotel has a designated parking about 5 blocks away, and will pay for your cab ride to the hotel.

If you are looking for a magical place this is it, upgrade for the view room is well worth it!!!

Enjoy Granada, the best Spanish city...

Room Tip: Get a room with a view and away from the stairs...

I stayed here for two days with my lady partner and I have mixed feelings about the stay. Covering the basics... the hotel is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the bus stop that takes you in from the airport. The walk is pretty straight forward and we had no real trouble lugging around our bags within Granada. It's about a 15 or so minute walk to Alhambra and basically only requires two turns, so the hotel is a functional location if you're going to be visiting Alhambra.

Covering the good. I spent the extra 15 or so euro to get a room with a view of Alhambra and the view does not disappoint. The view at night really helps you understand the size of Alhambra and the building facades are lit up pretty nicely so if you're going to stay here, you may as well throw down the extra money and get the view. The hotel itself has a very nice, simplistic elegance to it. It's phenomenal window decorations, for lack of a better descriptor. It's also nearby several of the best restaurants and a few plazas that our tourist traps but offer late night food and drinks with outdoor seating but off the busy roads so it made for a nice combination of tourist-friendly location without everyday life interrupting attempts to sleep in.

No for the negatives. The place was just not as functional as it could be. The beds were fine but each person got one pillow. The wifi does not reach the top floor, so we had to pop in to the lobby in order to download our Alhambra tickets and do anything else on the internet. Both days we did not have warm/hot water within the first 10 minutes of the shower being on, and in fact that second day we had no hot water period. The staff thought the problem was just our room and offered to let us shower in a vacant room, but another couple we traveled with had the same issue and we heard another family in the lobby registering the same complaint. Again, no one thing knocks it down to a two rating, but I have to say this is closer to rounding down from three stars than rounding up.

All in all, if you're looking for a unique looking hotel that is near Alhambra and not difficult to get to from the bus depot, the general area of this hotel is not bad, and this hotel probably looks better in pictures than you'll find elsewhere. But if you want actual basic comforts, may want to try elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Dear Guest

First of all , We would like to think you for your comment following your recent stay at the Hotel Palacio de Santa Inés. However we are sorry to read that we didn´t meet your expetcations

The Hotel Palacio Santa Inés has a free pillow menu available for all the guest who required it.
This service is absolutely free you just had to apply the receptionist for it.

During your stay , the district of the Albycin suffered a drop in pressure that caused a small delay in hot water. The Hotel had a high occupancy and many guests was using shower at the same time.
I have been informed that the staff offered you inmediately a vacant room to have a shower when you noticed it

We take all guest feedback very seriously, and we're constantly improving all aspects of our service and facilities and of course, we are checking the WIFI signal.
However I am glad that you had a very nice stay with us and you could enjoy the marvelous views for the Alhambra for your window´s room . I hope you can visit us again.
Yours sincerely,

The Manager

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

My husband and I just visited Granada in mid-July and booked 3 nights here. I was so excited to stay here because of the awesome reviews. I love staying at historic boutique hotels so Santa Ines fit the bill. I have mixed feelings about staying here though...

PROS -
Very charming and tons of character
Close to everything - loved the neighborhood and walked everywhere. Location is amazing
Clean hotel and rooms
Good breakfast

CONS-
AC did not work in our room on top floor. I told the front desk at least four times and they sent someone to fix it. It worked for an hour or so then would be steamy in our room. They offered us another room after the first night, but the room was very small so I didn't want to give up our space. It was so hot at night that we had to physically move our bed under the AC unit for any relief.
Beds are very hard and pillows are very soft. Couldn't sleep very well
Staff was just okay - didn't feel like they went above and beyond for anything or were very personal
Light in bathroom flickered the whole time, when it worked. Small thing, but annoying

All in all, I would recommend this hotel to someone looking for a good budget option in Granada, but I personally would look for another hotel next time we return to the beautiful city.

I reserved a family size room because we were traveling with our 2 children. The room was huge.. it actually had 2 bathrooms and 2 separate sleeping areas. The hotel was very clean and they provided tons of travel size toiletry items inside the room. The interior design of the hotel room and the lobby were both beautiful. There was even some what of a view of the Alhambra from the window if you angled your head just right you could see it! I would highly recommend this hotel because it is located just off the Paseo de los tristes and it is within walking distance of the Alhambra and the cathedral, as well as other shopping. The room also had free wifi and air conditioning within the room!

This was our second visit. It was even better than the first time.
Excellent location with views of the Alhambra, very atmospheric especially at night.
Very helpful staff. nothing was too much trouble.
The room was perfect and spotlessly clean.
Get the bus (the green bus is fun) up to Sacramento, beautiful views, nice bars and restaurants

Room Tip: Pay for view of Alhambra, its amazing !
