We wanted a charming hotel with a little bit of history and that's exactly what Casa Morisca offered. We had two rooms, one on the main floor with a window on the street and another on the second floor with a window to the courtyard/lobby. It was very peaceful, decorated traditionally yet with a modern touch and the location was perfect. It was breath taking to walk out the door and see the Alhambra. The front desk was very helpful and booked our flamenco show, which was just a few minute walk away. The breakfast is worth the extra cost and it was one of the best breakfasts we had on our trip with eggs, cheese, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and freshly squeezed orange juice!
I recommend this hotel and would stay there again!

The Hotel Casa Morisca is quite an experience, located right below the Alhambra, with some quite exquisite views of it from the rooms. While most things were done well, some things could have been better.

GREAT THINGS:
-Views... if the Alhambra does it for you, seeing it at first light, sunset, rain hail or shine from your hotel room will be an unforgettable experience
-Location: While it's a 10-min walk from the centre of the new part of Granada, the tiny cobblestone streets and the river rushing alongside are very pleasant. There are some great Moroccan restaurants nearby - don't be afraid to try these out, we found the experience incredible!

GOOD THINGS:
-Quality furnishings in rooms
-Reasonably helpful staff, it helps if your Spanish is okay

AVERAGE THINGS:
-Rooms are on the smaller side of things
-Breakfast, while plentiful, is uninspiring and expensive for what it is. No hot breakfast options.

Overall, the Hotel Casa Morisca is a great place to stay if you have fallen in love with the Alhambra and look forward to having your breath taken away every time you open your hotel room's windows. But remember that that's what your here for.

Me and my wife stayed there for 1 night and were extremely please in general with the hotel
It is in a very good location for visiting the Alhambra and only 5 minutes walk into the main square - although watch out for those crazy taxis trying to run you over on parts of the roads where there are no pavements.
The hotel is like a Moroccan riad and is very tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with the Moorish spirit of the area.
The rooms are of a decent size as are the bathrooms. My only complaint about the rooms were that they provide 2 single beds instead of a double that kept sliding apart so the wife almost fell into the crack a few times.
Breakfast is also pretty poor and probably the are they could most improve on. Some dried out bread, cold hard boiled eggs and some fruit and yoghurt was about the extent of it.
The service was decent and helpful enough.
taxi fare is about 25-30 euro (more on Saturday nights apparently )

Its a 15 minute uphill walk to Alhambra from here up a quite steep slope. So if you have difficulty walking I'd advise taking the buses from within the square - in which case you maybe better off getting a hotel around there.

Overall its a small, chilled out romantic hotel - just needs someone who can make some scrambled eggs

My companion and I stayed at the Morisca for 2 nights in mid-October. I choose one of the 114E rooms that faced the courtyard in order to cut costs.

Pros:
The Moorish style is evident everywhere in the interior and it’s the real thing. The center of the hotel is a courtyard with the original small fountain, very relaxing.
This is a great area of Granada, close to all the sights, within view of the Alhambra, and near to lots of restaurants.
Anna, the day front desk person is great, very helpful. She made every effort to make our stay comfortable. She even plotted out our route to Seville which was excellent.
Our room was standard size, the fact that it only opened into the courtyard was not a problem. The furnishings were comfortable and classy.
There is parking right out front.
There is a free computer connection in the room and a small frig.
Walking distance (uphill) to the Alhambra.

Cons:
Granada is hard to drive in; the street leading to the hotel is narrow and hard to navigate.
Our room was a bit warm.

In conclusion if you want a real feel for Granada the Morisca is perfect. The interior is filled with history and charm. The price of 114E was very reasonable. If you can afford it, get a room with an outside view.

This hotel did not live up to its rave reviews. The staff was unfriendly and cold - don't think I saw them smile. The bed was two singles pushed together (with very stiff sheets) and even after we said we were on honeymoon they did not switch us to a double. Let's just say that two seperate beds kills the romance! I also though the rooms were too small and from our room, a view of the Alahambra came with a strained neck! So, all in all, I wouldn't stay here again but I can see that it is a charming inn...
