We chose the Casa Morisca after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. We had Room 14, which has views of the Alhambra from the bedroom and a bathroom with two windows - one looking directly at the Alhambra and the opposite looking towards San Nicolas in the Albaycin.

The room was nicely furnished, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel has a Moorish theme and felt very authentic - the fountain/water feature in the central courtyard bringing the outdoors inside.

Breakfast is served in the cellar room and had a good choice buffet which is not served until 8 or 8:30. However, the staff were very accommodating when we asked for two early breakfasts (one at 7 a.m.) and they are happy to serve you in your room or on the outside patio (too dark for us at 7 a.m!)

We had no problems with noise, either from the lift, other guests or from outside - even though Granada was very busy on our last night as there was an important football match on. Neither were we disturbed during siesta time - although Room 14 does face away from the street (a dead end with no through traffic).

We did not have a car but it seemed fairly easy to find and there was parking in the street outside. However, I would not advise anyone to try and drive in the Albaycin where the streets varied between 1.5 and 1.9 metres wide! There is an excellent bus service from Passeo de los Tristes, just at the bottom of the street, which will save you the ten minute walk into Plaza Nueve/Gran Via de Colon for the many bars and restaurants.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic Andalusian experience.

This is a great little hotel. The room was small but fully appointed, bathroom has all the goodies including hair dryer and most important it has good A/C. The ambiance is great being the converted 15th century mansion. We usually don't buy into the hotel breakfasts but this one offered good selection for a reasonal price. The location is in the old section of town adjacent to the Albaizin and across the river from the Alhambra. You have to walk a few blocks to get to major shopping/restaurants but there is a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. Staff was helpful and cheerful. A can't miss choice.

Casa Morisca is easy to find, pretty, well-located, and has very nice staff. The hotel sent good directions when we booked, so we managed to navigate from the autopista without any trouble. The and rooms lobby are very pretty had lots of tile, Moorish-themed artwork, etc. Our room was a reasonable size, and had a view of the Alhambra from the balcony.

Interestingly, we also stayed in the room 11 that triggered the unhappy review below. The schoolboys across the road were indeed playing soccer (quite late in the evening, in fact), but I guess I'm a pretty sound sleeper - managed to sleep just fine without ear plugs. The night before the soccer, some mama was belting out blues tunes somewhere up in Sacromonte - it was actually quite gorgeous and I kept the windows open to hear it. We didn't notice the elevator at all, or any morning rucus. I too had a bath, and I concur that running the tub took forever, but the water was hot-hot-hot and I did not have anything resembling a tepid bath. Perhaps they've made some changes.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Alhambra (the back way), the cathedral, restaurants, Sant Nicolas viewpoint, and Sacromonte.

Parking could be a little tricky. We had a spot in the parallel-parking sidestreet in which the hotel is located, but if it were full, finding parking elsewhere might be a pain.

I would most definitely stay at this hotel again.

Good evening from Hotel Casa Morisca!
Sometimes, when It is possible, I usually have a look your website to know what some of our guest think about us.
At first, I would like to excuse me about my english...I would like it will be perfect but I think it is easy you understand me.
I would like to thank you all the very pleasunt emails you send to us and also explaining about other items that here are writting.
When you ask for availability rooms in our hotel, we always send to you all the prices for our rooms. Later, we ask for a credit card details as a guarantee. We have only 14 rooms, so If someone need at least 4 of them, we always guarantee with a credit card or with a bank transfer. why we have to do it? because it is not the first time some one book all our rooms ( remember...only 14 ) and they have not arrived...and the credit card is not correct. So...when you need 5 rooms...I asked to you about a bank transfer. ( I remember you )
Our hotel is opened from 2001 and we have kept the same timetable about breakfast. In Spain is not usually to have it before 9...( of course when we are in holidays ) but not for you so we always offer to you from 8 till 10.30am. never at 11 because our waiter is the same boy that stay during all night with you. when breakfast is finished he goes home to sleep and usually me stay working in my desk. This year it is the first time that we offer to you room service and when you wish, you can order a brekfast in your room or in our outside patio.
About how to drive to our hotel, we always send to you our confirmation and also the map and instructions ( street by street ) that you need to drive till our hotel ( from summer, the city center is only allowed to drive for residents and hotels ). I am sure our hotel is the only in Granada that offer to you this help to arrive.
Albayzin is a very quiet place, and of course "our street". Sometimes you can hear the children that are just in front our hotel ( it is a school). Around 12h and 18h are playing basketball so..it is possible you can hear them from our rooms.
Our elevator was the first in Granada with a special machine...without noisy and only once we had a complaint from one of our guest. I would like she can have a look about what other guest have written in tripadvisor about the same room you have...
As you know it is not easy to work every day with so many people from so many countries but I love it!
I would like from here to thank all "my new friends" that have made me happier with your smile. I remember all of you and I am so glad when you are comming back, when you remember me in Christmas...You are the most important.
Thanks, Ana

We spent 3 nights in Granada. Being our first time in Andulicia, my wife and I splurged when it came to Granada. We chose the place after reading TripAdvisor (including the negative reviews).

The hotel is small, with a Moorish theme. It is located in the old part of the city. The area is called the Albayzin, a labrynth of roads and tightly squeezed on steep hillside directly opposite the Alhambra. We stayed in one of the rooms recommended here with a view of the Alhambra from the room and bathroom. The room and bathroom was very clean.

There is no traffic outside the hotel as the hotel is located on dead-end street on a steep incline. We woke up late one morning (10:30 am) and heard some construction noise going on at a home nearby. Hardly the hotels fault. If you live in a city, it is nothing worth noticing. We had no problems with loud bars near the hotel.

The staff was very helpful at all times. One particular example. They have a limited number of parking spots just in front of the hotel. We were able to get a spot. After 4 days on the street, under a tree the car was caked with dust and leaves. After checking out, we realized we needed to clean the car...at least the windows. The hotel staff helped in providing me a water hose, towels to clean the car and even helped out with a little elbow grease. That's service!

The only negative I can say, is getting there. It is not easy at all, but then again the Albaycin is difficult to navigate anyway. The easiest way to get there is to follow the signs to the Alhambra (or ask how to get to the Alhambra). Once you get to the road leading to the Alhambra just follow the river NE until the end. Warning: the streets are very narrow in this section of the city. Exiting was a lot easier than arriving.
