Before getting to Granada i read most of the comments here and i decided to book the suite for the last to nights of our stay in Andalucia. And it is worth the money! a wonderful hotel, very friendly staff, a view from the bed on the alhambra, not to mention the wonderful old wooden ceiling in the room and the jacuzzi in the bathroom. Of course its quite expensive, but really somthing special and charming. Don´t worry about the Alhambra tickets, the staff will organize them for you. And we could park right in front of the hotel. i think it is highly recommendable, even the cleaning personal is friendly (and that is something special: even though whole andalucia lives of us, the tourists, service level in general is rather low).

This hotel is so cute and is more like a bed and breakfast. The hotel and the rooms have character and style. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful especially when we wanted to reserve tickets to the Alhambra. It is a 15 minute hike to the Alhambra and another 15 minutes walk downtown. There are tons of restaurants on the street.

I had reservations when I booked about the noise but we did not really notice it. If you have ever lived in NY, you are fine.

We were only in Granada one night. After we got to this hotel, we wished we had planned to stay longer. The place is everything the other reviews say it is. Clean, well run, well appointed, etc. A half block from the hotel is a square that sits at the base of the Alhambra. Sitting there at sunset -- when the Alhambra ligths up red against the sky -- was one of the highlights of our trip. The staff showed us a "short-cut" up to the Alhambra, about a fifteen minute scenic walk. They also helped us with our train reservation to Seville. Breakfast was very good.

When I was heading to Grenada for two days earlier this July, I choose to stay at Casa Morisca largely based on the glowing reviews I read here. While I liked Casa Morisca and found it to be a lovely place, I did not find that it was worth its cost.
Plus it is a bit of a walk to the hotel if you are coming from the center of Grenada-- and definitely take a taxi from the train station.
My advice-- compare this cost with other like hotels in Grenada. I believe we could have had charm and quiet for less the price. Oh and the price does not include breakfast.

My husband and I just came back from a two week trip to Spain covering six cities and the Hotel Casa Morsica was by far our favorite hotel of the trip. The charm begins as you walk through what looks like a four hundred year old door into a lovely courtyard. This small hotel oozes with charm and seemed authentically Spanish. Fabulous location - the walk up to the Alhambra literally begins two blocks away. It's maybe a 10 minute walk into town (or a quick cab ride). The room's amenities were modern but the old world charm remained. The staff was extremely helpful. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Granada.
