Just returned from our first visit to Granada; we had certainly chosen the right hotel. The booking was straightforward via email, and they made sure we'd booked our Alhambra tickets - which we'd also done on line.
The building is wonderful, around a central courtyard, and nicely furnished in keeping with the period.
They also provided excellent directions for driving into central Granada, - the hotel has parking which seems to be rare here, and made our arrival very easy.
Our outside room with balcony provided lovely views of the Alhambra which was close by, and the archaeological museum was just along the street.
Breakfast was in a delightful vaulted room downstairs, and included freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit, cereal, cheese and ham etc etc - lovely pastries too!
Highly recommend this hotel, - but suspect you need to book early as they only have about twelve / fourteen rooms.

We had a great time during our stay at the Casa Morisca. It's a beautiful place in this charming city. It's nicely located near the awesome Alhambra and close to shops and restaurants. The room was clean, breakfast was good and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. The front desk reserved Alhambra tickets for us in advance and even printed out a mapquest for us when we left to help us get to our next stop! Even the laundry service was great. I can say enough positive things, I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Casa Morisca for two nights while traveling around Spain. The hotel has great charm, and is perfect for an Alhambra-focused visit to Granada. The hotel itself is Moorish in architecture, with a fountain, and open courtyard (which can be covered by a tarp-like system). It is located in the old part of town, directly below the Alhambra. We walked up the back road to the Alhambra, which was a little steep, but very manageable.

We stayed in one of the rooms with an outside facing window. It was a little more expensive, but it was nice to have views outside (although not necessarily of the Alhambra) instead of a view/window onto the courtyard. Our room was tidy and quaint, with 2 twin beds shoved together (which we found common in our travels through Spain), a small sitting area, and a bathroom with tub/shower combo.

Breakfast was included. It was an average breakfast, nothing to write home about, but it was nice that it was included and located just downstairs.

The hotel is located at the end of a long side street. This, along with the buzzer-entry door, made us feel a little uneasy safety-wise. But we encountered no problems walking back at night from the Plaza Nuevo part of town.

Overall I would recommend the hotel for travellers who are focused on a unique place to stay with easy access and great views of the Alhambra.

We booked the "special double room" which is charming. I think it was room 8, but cannot recall exactly. The room is larger than most of the others, and has a gorgrous original wood ceiling.

Hotel staff was very helpful with making reservations, parking, restaurant reccomendations, etc.

Breakfast is served in the underground cave area, and it is exactly what we expected. Self-serve, the usual buffet spread of cereals, coffee, tea, breads, jamon, queso, etc.

View from the room is of the Alhambra.

There is a small sitting room off the atrium where one could sit and read, have a glass of sherry, etc.

From what I saw of the other rooms they are very small - but the argument can be made that one is not going to Granada to spend one's time in a hotel room.

We travelled to Granada with friends the first week in November & stayed in rooms 11 & 12 both of which were lovely.

We arrived earlier than anticipated & the recepionist could not have been more helpful. She was a mine of information and gladly gave of her time. In fact all the staff were equally good.

We shall return to Granada in January & we will certainly return to this wonderful hotel.
