We loved this hotel. It is in a restored historic building with a lovely courtyard but the rooms could not be more modern. Fabulous beds and bathrooms with many nice touches. Our only gripe was that it was so difficult to get to and took us 1 1/2 hours driving in circles. We didn't do so well driving in Spain-those roundabouts were difficult, and many one way streets. Get good directions. We got there very late so were not able to enjoy the facility as much as we wanted. The breakfast was wonderful and worth every penny for our family of 4. Usually I won't book anyplace that doesn't include breakfast but this was an exception.
Overall, it could not have been any better.

We booked in here after realising our original booking the Saray was too far out of the city to be useful. From the moment we got there the service was excellent. Really helpful staff. Granada is heaving noisy and hot. The hotel is a real lifesaver. The courtyard is amazing and you can't hear the bustle of Gran via de Colon.

Staff were helpful in reserving La Alhambara tickets for us. Whilst we were in the Saray, the Saray staff suggested we take a taxi to the ticket office to get tickets for the following day, or surprise surprise take their 3 times more expensive excustion package !!!

We had our 9 month old with us and the room was big enough for our queen size bed and a crib. The bathroom with double sink was stunning. We used room service numerous time to get hot water and hot milk for her feeds. They always arrived in 5 minutes and we were never charged for the hot milk. We had tea bags with us (no tea & coffee in room) and used extra water to make us tea. Eventually room service started leaving us tea cups !!

The free mini bar is not to be sniffed at. Although only two alcoholic drinks in it, I reckon at bar prices there are €20-25 of drinks in it.

The restaurnat is excellent but a little pricey for the portions sizes, however remember the Spanish dont have large evening meals. Dinner in the courtyard simply has to be done. The kangaroo tenderloin was so good my wife had it twice.

I have nothing but admiration for the hotel. And at about £90 (approx. €120) it was a bargain.

I would really recommend this for people with kids as it is so central you can easily pop out, and come back. If you are stuck in in the evening cause of kids, its a really nice to sit in both levels of the courtyard with a glass of wine.

  • Liked — Stunning building.
  • Disliked — Restaurant is expensive for what you get.

A previous reviewer described this hotel as an oasis in busy Granada, and I would have to agree entirely. It's a great modern hotel which has integrated an old convent building. The concierge was helpful in making our bookings to visit La Alhambra. The hotel is centrally located and it's a short (albeit uphill) walk to wander through the old neighbourhoods of Granada. There is also some decent shopping in the streets around the hotel. Other sites close by include the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel. My only caution to anyone travelling to Spain, or Andalucia specifically is this region is not ready for foodies! if meals are an important part of your vacation, the food in these parts is average at best, so be prepared to be disappointed unfortunately. That said, we did not eat at the AC Palacio Santa Paula - the menu looked good, so it may be an option. The hotel's courtyard is a great spot for an apperitif.

We found this hotel to be an oasis in the busy, congested streets of Granada. It's location was great as it's a short walk to the narrow streets, squares, and restaurants of the old town. We stayed in a standard room in the modern part of the hotel and found it to be mediocre for what we were paying - 180 Euros. The room was clean, but small and lacking in the charm department. We didn't have breakfast there because of the price -- 18 Euros per person I think. Staff was helpful. Bus stop to Alhambra right outside hotel is a plus.

A beautiful, gigantic room with all the amenities you could wish for and more. We loved this place. Managed to feel historic, yet modern at the same time.
