Stayed here one night because we could not get two nights in a row at the parador. Almost was sorry we'd booked the parador for our second night; this hotel was an oasis of calm and great design in the heart of Granada. Our room was on the Gran Via and construction taking place across the street; however, our rooms was perfectly quiet with the windows shut. Room was not huge, but very well appointed with a comfortable bed and very modern, nice bathroom with oversized tub. Gratis mini-bar was a nice touch; beer, sodas, water and juices were all that we needed. Good location, convenient to historical center of town and many good tapas bars, restaurants, and shopping nearby. Complimentary umbrellas a nice touch (sorry we needed them). Staff was helpful with dinner reservations and directions, but not with arranging visits to other AC hotels (surprising).

My wife and I stayed at the AC Palcio de Santa Paula for two nights last summer. It is a beautifully renovated 15th century convent. The mix of modern amenities, classy decor and quality service makes this an excellent choice. The restaurant served dinner in the open air courtyard with a live string trio performing elegant classical music. It made for a very special evening. I can comfortably recommend this property to anyone looking for a higher end hotel.

This is a nice hotel, as long as you stay in the original part of the building. The new wing is just like any other business style hotel and feels decidedly detached from the old convent. The merger of the two has not been done well.
The staff are friendly however understaffing is a problem. This hotel over promises and under delivers. A free mini bar is included, however this consists of a couple of bottles of coke and some water. If you want wine etc you have to order room service or go to the bar. A visit to the bar for 24 hour complimentary tea/coffee and snacks took 25 minutes before a waiter appeared. The snacks turned out to be 3 "dog" biscuits between 5 people and the waiter had not heard of the free offer and insisted we sign for the bill.
During the weekend I spent a total of approximately 5 hours at the gym / spa. During that time not one member of staff appeared to check towel levels, cleanliness etc.
This hotel would pass for a 4 Star, but certainly not 5. In general hotels in Southern Spain do not know how to "do" 5 star. If you are looking for this standard, look for 5* GL. Otherwise, a good 4* is much better value for money.

We stayed at the AC Palacio de Santa Paula for two nights and had a fantastic time! The hotel is a converted monastery with an amazing courtyard and historical details reminding guests about its heritage. However, it has a very modern and contemporary feel to it and exudes 5-star luxury. We stayed in a standard room on the 4th floor and had no problems with noise from the outside.

The hotel is located on the Gran Via de Colon which is close enough, yet far away from the Plaza Nuevo to escape all the hussle and bussle.

Our room was well designed and the bathroom was exceptionally clean and very modern. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and would recommend this for any special occasion. All in all, the Palacio Santa Paula makes for a great stay and we were sad when we had to check out. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a modern design hotel in a historic location.

This hotel was absolutely stunning. The rooms had character and were beautiful decorated. It was as if you were in a spanish villa. The staff were very helpful and all spoke English. The breakfast was excellent. The restuarant staff were quick with service and always helpful. The location was very convenient to all attractions and city centre. I would highely recommend this hotel for pleasure or business.
