Location: The hotel is located just off the Recogidas and is a 10 minute stroll from the Cathedral. It is situated on a fairly busy street, but is well sound-proofed, so noise is not an issue. There are a number of bars and restaurants within a short stroll.

Reception: Manned 24 hours by multi-lingual staff. Check in and out was quick and efficient. They have direct contact with taxis and when we ordered one on checkout it was outside within 5 minutes.

Room: Comfortable and well furnished with firm beds, easy chairs, a desk, and plenty of storage space. Extra pillows were available in the wardrobe. There was a TV with BBC World as its English language channel. The Bathroom was clean and well lit.

Breakfast: Buffet-style with good quality hot and cold options. Coffee pots and hot milk automatically appeared on the table, and there were teabags and hot water dispenser for those who prefer tea. My only complaint was the standard of the coffee, which was poor - one mouthful was enough.

Staff: All of the staff that we came in contact with, Reception, Bar, Cleaners, and Security were friendly and helpful.

Other facilities: A pleasant, if pricey, bar serving tapas with drinks. Two coin operated computers with internet access (1 euro for 15 minutes), though they ran a little slow. There is also an indoor swimming pool, sqash courts and a restaurant, none of which we used, so no comment.

Overall I felt the hotel was good value for money, and we enjoyed our stay.

The Corona is at the southern end of main Granada within easy walking distance of all the shops and eating places. Walking down from the Alhambra is no problem, but you might find that uphill is a stretch. The beds are fine and the bathroom well-appointed. Only gripe is the sound of everyone's plumbing/showers etc. Breakfast is good and the staff are helpful.

I selected the Hotel Corona mostly because of the many decent reviews on Trip Advisor. I am very pleased with that decision.
The Hotel Corona is in comfortable walking distance to the center of town up a main street lined with orange trees. The Alhambra Palace is a bit more of a trek and most of it is uphill.
The street upon which The Corona sits and the hotel exterior are not particularly exceptional. Once inside, however, my opinion quickly changed. The bedroom and the sparkling clean bathroom were very large compared to other European hotels I have visited. The spacious room had high ceilings, plenty of light and ample closet space. The size of the bathroom in particular, and the amenities included, was a stunner.
As for other features, off the hotel's main lobby there is a very comfortable bar and lounge. The dining room, where one can indulge in one of the best free breakfasts I've had in a while, is just down the hall.
In between, there are two coin-operated PC's were I was able to send off some quick emails.
I was about ten days too early to take advantage of the rooftop pool.
However, down on the lower level, guests can take advantage of the hotel's squash court any season.
As for the staff, I found them to be courteous and helpful.
My flight back to Barcelona was a late one. The front desk told me that after I checked out, I could leave my bag with the reception desk and pick it up when I was ready to head to the airport.
When I was ready to leave Granada, they called a taxi for me, which arrived with little delay.
My only regret; I did not stay longer

Ok first impressions - not very good. The hotel didnt look as nice as the photo. So the first critical point to make is dont be fooled by the photos.

The staff were not very pleasant. The worrying thing is that i am Spanish and i speak Spanish quite well, but there was always a feeling that the staff didnt quite want us there. Not exactly sure why that was but we didnt exactly cause any trouble. We were quite well behaved considering. Maybe we werent their target clientele, which is true to an extent because this hotel is more suited to the elderly. I wouldnt even recommend it to a youngish married couple. However, even the elderly may have some issues with the hotel because i didnt exactly think the quality or amenities were that striking. Basically if you are elderly and your stuck with cash then this is probably the place for you. If, on the other hand, you want better quality and more choice for a higher price then this is definately not the one for you.

At the end of the day this hotel is really a mediocre 3 star but is marketed as a 4 star hotel. I HAVE STAYED IN MUCH NICER AND BETTER 3 STAR HOTELS!!!!. The only reason it passes as a 4 star hotel is because it crams in the facilities that a 4 star would have. For example, it has the internet but it must be a dial-up connection because it is slow and rubbish. The pool is not quite a paddling pool but more than 5 people would be over crowded. The TV - old TV with the standard channels, nothing special.

The other thing that ticked me off was that if you are two lads coming home from a good night out, especially after spending a night in Mai West ( which may i add is probably the best club ive seen and been to), the last thing that you want to see at 4 or 5am in the morning is the steel fence pulled down as if the hotel had a curfew. The last thing you want to be doing is ringing the doorbell to alert the porter, which is what we had to do. So if the situation arises and you are lucky enough to bring back some skirt and you want to sneak her in - if you stay in this hotel you can strike that off your list right now!

All in all, in my opinion this hotel was not for me and i think many others would agree with me. Granada is a beautiful place to be in - so dont spoil it by staying in a rubbish hotel.

Great Location. friendly staff. Nice bar in the lobby. The only issue was the noise in the middle of the night from the speedsters on 2 wheelers but it was not their fault as the city centre is busy till the early hours on a weekend. Rooms could be larger - overall good value for money.
