I selected the Hotel Corona mostly because of the many decent reviews on Trip Advisor. I am very pleased with that decision.
The Hotel Corona is in comfortable walking distance to the center of town up a main street lined with orange trees. The Alhambra Palace is a bit more of a trek and most of it is uphill.
The street upon which The Corona sits and the hotel exterior are not particularly exceptional. Once inside, however, my opinion quickly changed. The bedroom and the sparkling clean bathroom were very large compared to other European hotels I have visited. The spacious room had high ceilings, plenty of light and ample closet space. The size of the bathroom in particular, and the amenities included, was a stunner.
As for other features, off the hotel's main lobby there is a very comfortable bar and lounge. The dining room, where one can indulge in one of the best free breakfasts I've had in a while, is just down the hall.
In between, there are two coin-operated PC's were I was able to send off some quick emails.
I was about ten days too early to take advantage of the rooftop pool.
However, down on the lower level, guests can take advantage of the hotel's squash court any season.
As for the staff, I found them to be courteous and helpful.
My flight back to Barcelona was a late one. The front desk told me that after I checked out, I could leave my bag with the reception desk and pick it up when I was ready to head to the airport.
When I was ready to leave Granada, they called a taxi for me, which arrived with little delay.
My only regret; I did not stay longer
