Owner description: As in its origin, the Arab baths are made up three spaces created by water pools at different temperatures and which give their name to the hot, warm and cold rooms. Each client is free to choose their own route through these spaces while respecting our team´s guidelines for use in order to enjoy an optimun experience of tradition. The route, which is accompained by Andalusian music, is completed with the steam room, the relaxation room - where clients can enjoy a typical tea - and the hot stone room, in which they can receive a massage or Ritual of their choice. Our clients feel transported in time and allow themselves to be guided on a journey through the exotic sensuallity of the mythical Al Andalus. Upon leaving, the Alhambra greets them only a few metres away with a vision that rounds off their experience of the past.

“Perfect, After a Day of Sightseeing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2012

I booked via the call center and the representative spoke excellent English. My Spanish is less than basic, so this was a big plus. My reservation was for one of their "special" hours, which are discounted. I opted for the baths + a double massage (30 minutes).

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the pools were very relaxing. Although, some customers really do need to learn to read the signs about being quiet!

I opted out of the coldest pool, since it was so cold outside. The massage was excellent. In fact, I fell asleep!

The lighting is quite dim, but don't take this as a negative. Arab baths have been around a lot longer than electricity. In ancient times the only light came from the "holes" in the ceiling!

If you are in Granada, or one of the other cities where there is a branch, don't hesitate to reserve a session. You won't be disappointed.

“Disappointing after the hammam in Cordoba”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

We had been to the Hammam al Andalus in Cordoba, so when we discovered there was another branch in Granada, we couldn't wait to try it. What a contrast, and such a disappointment after our wonderful experience in Cordoba. We booked into the one in Granada and were dismayed at the number of people clustered around the reception desk waiting to get in. In Cordoba they lent us swimsuits, but in Granada it is compulsory to bring your own. They offered to sell us a swimsuit for 12 euros each. We decided to leave. When the staff realized that two potential paying customers were about to leave, they miraculously found two swimsuits in a back room which they lent us. The dressing rooms were so tiny it was very difficult to get changed without elbowing your neighbor. The lockers were far too small for all our winter clothes. There was no clear direction of which way to the pools from the dressing rooms. When we did find our way, we discovered very small pools with no hand rails, which are necessary for safety as the steps are wet and very slippery. The hot pool is so small that people lay across the steps and you have to step over them to get into the pool. The pools had far too many people in them for their size and we were amazed at the behavior of some people. Couples were making out everywhere and made it very unpleasant for others. The massage was very mechanical and you felt the masseuse was just going through the motions. We were told that each branch of Hammam al Andalus is a franchise. In Granada it was expensive and a big disappointment. Try the one in Cordoba instead. They have a better understanding of customer service and caring masseurs.

Dear Madam /Sir

In the name of Hammam Al Andalus and all its workers we would like to apologize.
We would like to thank your comment and the time spared writing it. This way we can keep working on a continual improvement process to ensure that your experience with us is unique and exclusive.
You might would like to know that we are always improving our facilities and we now have bigger Changing-Rooms and also bigger lockers. Also, all accesses to all areas are now perfectly signed.
Due to the amount of water and steam inside our facilities, both the ground and the pools have a special treatment to avoid people from falling down. It is true that there are no hand rails inside, but that is only because of the arquitecture of the place and its various stairs. We will, however, inform our maintenance team of your request and we will for sure find a way to resolve that problem.
In the morning sessions during the week there are normally less people, so if costumers are looking for a quiet time we always advise them to come at 10am,14pm or 24pm. There is also a special rate for those times.
Once again we apologize and we hope the rest of your stay in Granada was pleasant.

“The kings of uncomfort”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

I use to go to spas in Barcelona, Sevilla, Germany, and always had good to great experience. We wanted to try the spa Hammam Al Andalous of Granada and got a nice price offer: 22 euros for 2 people. But what a deception once inside!! The dressing rooms are specially dark, super small so you end up touching your neighbour, the lockers themselves cannot contain your winter coat plus bag plus clothes plus shoes because they are too small.
Inside the spa, we were far too many people for this little space, and many people were talking loud so for a relaxing experience, go somewhere else. The warm pool has so little water that you need more or less to lie down to get your body into the water, and by doing that you block the way in or out to other people of the pool. The cold pool doesn't have easy access (no stairs but a super high wet edge that you need to pass by your own means.
To go to the showers, you have to go down wet stairs, quite slippery. To go to some part of the spa you need to pass by the massage room, thus probably disturbing the people who have paid a lot more to receive their massage.
I have to say that the whole experience was super disappointing, the Moorish tea itself was bad, and everything (pools, stairs, etc) had sharp edges that can be quite painful if you don't pay proper attention all the time.
Summary: the only positive things were the price and that the spa is quite pretty and nicely decorated. But that doesn't make the experience much nicer.

We think it is important that you know we are not a Spa. We are a Arabic Bath House, also known as Hammam. Our main difference is that we do not sell therapies and our pools are not made for swimming, just for people to lay down and relax with the water, the sound and the aromatherapy.
You might would like to know that we are always improving our facilities and we now have bigger Changing-Rooms and also bigger lockers. However, they still can be small for people to keep coats and other big things inside the lockers, but for that we have places in the Changing-Rooms for clients to hang their clothes and coats. The light inside the Changing-rooms has also been changed and we now have brighter lights inside.
Due to the amount of water and steam inside our facilities, both the ground and the pools have a special treatment to avoid people from falling down. “The ultimate joy!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2012

Tha Hamman is located at the foot of the Alhambra, you need to make a reservation, possible on line if you wish.
A daugther amd mother duo, we took the bath and relaxing massage for 32 euros. It was our first experience, the baths are clean and relaxing, I would recommend wearing a cap, we have encountered some hairs flooting ...

In between the hot , medium and cold pools one must take a sip of mint tea.
There is a timetable of 2 hours wich allows plenty of time.
