Really interesting building with a lovely courtyard in a great location. However, room very small and breakfast not good quality (e.g. stale croissant). Staff friendly enough There are buses from the city centre to the Al Hambra, but we walked down to the centre twice a day - only 10 mins but pretty steep in places / fine for average fitness. Next time though we would definitely stay in the town centre, as found ourselves going down into the town for dinner in the evenings anyway and spent some time exploring the streets of the city. You would also get alot more for your money staying in the
city.

  • Liked — The location purely for visiting the Al Hambra
  • Disliked — Did not consider value for money (very small bedrooms, poor breakfast)

Very cosy, homely feeling hotel right in a amazing location. Comfotable, characteristic rooms. Friendly staff. Quite a walk up the hill but great to be able to take a break at the hotel in between visiting parts of the Alhambra. Cute courtyard. Only negatives: Could hear other guests walking up and down the stairs. No TV in the room - not that you really need one.
One word of advice - make sure you book your tickets for visiting the Alhambra way in advance if you are going at a busy time. Ticket office opens at 8h30 but when we got there at 7h00 there were already hundreds of people in the queue - some with sleeping bags. Worth it to see the palace though.

We stayed here March 24 to March 26. Hotel has a GREAT location. The
room is tiny but very clean. If you are visiting Granada for Alhambra, this is the place to stay. Very cheap too. 105 euro per night for our room (Room 106). Make sure you stop by the Parador next door for their 3-layer dessert cake. Yummy.

While the hotel is right within the property of the Alhambra, there was nothing else that gives this hotel an edge. Our room was very small and overpriced. We paid Eur. 110 per night for a tiny little room with a low quality bed. The breakfast was even worse. We got these little bread sticks and super sweet pastry. If we return to Granada, we'd opt for a better hotel in the town center instead. Getting to the Alhambra is very easy as there is a shuttle to takes you there from the center of town, and other spots, every 15 minutes and you just pay Eur 1.25.

  • Liked — The location, i.e., within the Alhambra property
  • Disliked — The hotel itself
  • Tips/Secrets: — Book a room elsewhere

We were led to booking this hotel on the basis of its description in the Michelin Green Guide (I subsequently have found your website). What attracted us was the description as a 'very friendly welcomimg family run hotel'. This could not have been further from the truth. The reception we had when from the man when we arrived was ill mannered and we had the distinct impression we had spoiled his evening. We had previously advised them of a late arrival. The following morning the same man was serving breakfast and was similarly rude and unfriendly. On observation we concluded that he was just the same with other guests. The breakfast by the way is rubbish - a stale roll, pot of plain yoghurt. a geen apple and warm tea or coffee - 7 Euros each.
The hotel itself is clean and an interesting building and ideally located if your main reason for visiting Granada. If you can afford it - stay at the Parador next door. Unless you do not mind appaling service, avoid this hotel like the plague.
