We very much enjoyed the quiet and convenient setting of Hotel America.
The location in the Alhambra can't be beat. Several parts of the Alhambra are open without tickets, so we were able to spend some quiet evenings enjoying the surroundings, and then spent the better part of the day touring parts of the Alhambra. Also, convenient buses and taxis to Granada make it easy to visit other parts of the town.

We stayed at Hotel America in June 2003. The inn/staff was wonderful.
We were lucky enough to have room 226, a suite on the top floor with a balcony and small fountain. The inn is owned and operated by a family and they are all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and modern in a rustic way. The price was excellent for the room, @$100 per night. The hotel is also located steps from the palace on the grounds of the alhambra. Beautiful place, would recommend to everyone, but book early.

Small, homely hotel, great place to stay particularly at Easter when Granada itself is full of processions going on all night! Position up in the grounds of the Alhambra make it convenient for sightseeing, but it is a fair climb back up from town at night - take a taxi from Plaza Nueva. The hotel is heated, which is handy in cooler weather. Our room was small, but pretty comfortable - only complaint was the sheet on the bed was not quite wide enough to cover both of us properly! Very helpful and friendly staff - night porter serving breakfast could do with a few lessons in customer service though.

Family run with only about 14 rooms. Home cooking and service in rustic dining area. Owners are very special and make you feel like one of the family! Immaculately run. Beautiful flowers tumbling from flower boxes and right next to the Alhambra. Definitely recommend and will return.
